Problem - Leaky passenger side

Hey guys,

I've just got back from an awesome run from London to Pembrookeshire over the Brecon Beacons, Balck Mountains and right through Wales.

There are some 1st class roads and some really rude overtaking manouvers but, it tipped it down all the way there on Saturday.

I parked the car up on Saturday and didn't use it again until i got in to come home yesterday and noticed that the carpet under the passenger seat was p1ss wet through. It was definitely rain water and has since dried up, but i was wondering if this is a common fault and if anybody knows where to look to plug the hole! I think it must be coming from either the passenger air intake (?) or from under / around the engine - it is definitely not the door seal.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a floor or bulkhead groment has fallen out somewhere.

Where should I be looking to find the grommits - do you reckon it's a Renault job?

Before going to Renault I would take out the front liner and see if anything is obvious. Renault etc will have a ramp for checking underneath.

You hqvent had the windscreen replaced recently have you?

Mk1 or Mk2

If its a Mk1 check around the aerial by the interior light console, had a problem like this on my mates saxe it was leaking in the aerial hole.

Get the hose pipe out and drench the car whilst someones sat in it, check all up under the dash and everywhere.

This will be the first thing renault will do and most probably charge you an hours labour to do so.

Its a mark 2 - and no, as far as i know, its the original screen, although i can't be 100% sure.

I got the feeling the water was getting in from the back wheel / behind the seat area as it is only under the passenger seat which was wet, the passenger footwell itself was bone dry.

I'll give the hosepipe route a try though.
