Phase 2 19 Fuel Pump

coops

Member
do the 19's follow same track as clio as in phase 1 has in tank pump seperate from sender so have to drop tank and the phase 2 has an all in one unit under the rear seat cover?

any advice much appreciated

cheers

Ben

Nope, exactly the same on phase 1 and 2 - seperate pump unit and sender unit.

sender unit is accessible by the little porthole on the boot floor, fuel pump is in tank and you have to either drop the tank or cut the boot floor to get at it.

lol, my mates not going to be a happy bunny at that news!

oh well, told him he should of bought a clio ;-)

cheers mate for the prompt reply, much appreciated

wait till he has to change the alternator or PS pump, he'll be quite glad he went for a 19 instead of a clio then ;)

ah you see, thats where my cunning plan came into fruition ;-)

powersteering removed, alternator now a piece of piss to get out, altho its fairly easy anyway on the clio!

I dont know what it's like on the clio but tbh dropping the tank on the 19 isn't really a big issue.

i think main issue tends to be rusty/rounded bolts, and knowing his car it'll be bad under there!lol

either way sure we'll give it a good crack!

are there any other possible reasons for pump not priming on ignition suddenly? dont think he has alarm/immobiliser
