I've had my Renault 5 for a long time now, since the 2nd of December 2007!
Some of you will remember the car. You know the one with the silly exhaust and chopped up bumper :read.gif:

These photos are from the day before I last drove it in 2016 😲

I'd done my best to keep on top of it over the years until the prospect of an inner sill not passing an MOT, and a corroded fuel line put the car off the road for a winter.
May of 2017 saw the car head off on a trailer to a friends who was going to sort the fuel lines and patch up the sill.

So as with all favours, one thing led to another - more and more rust was found and in 2020 he said it was more than he could handle in his garage.

Fast forward to 2021. 5 years now since I last drove the car and it's finally getting the attention it needs.

There's a massive list of things to be done but as a summery...

Dash, door cards, engine, gearbox, seats and roll cage... aren't having anything done.

The car is having a minor restoration. a small list of what will be done.
Cut out and replace -
Inner and outer sills.
Windscreen surround.
Front slam panel.
Driver's footwell.
Boot floor.
Front bumper mounts.
Rear bumper mounts.
Rear window sills.
Boot lid.
Drivers door - replaced.
Bonnet repaired.

Then a full engine out respray.

Subframe will also be replaced as it's bent - probably worth polly bushing at this point.

A lot more bits too but I'll try and list them as they're done.
Here's the car as he sits now. Looking very sorry for himself. The full strip down starts next week and I really can't wait!!!

(I didn't crash the car - it was like that when I bought it and from the history, it was crashed in 2002 and parked in a barn for 5 years until I bought it)
