ph2 petrol sounds like a diesel

i have a ph2 r 19 m reg 1.4 rn i energy its had a big service but its still sounding like a diesel would it be something like tappets like on the fords ????

they are adjustable, but diesals knock you know! which makes me think :?
you need to upload a vid or summin and desbcribe the noise better

I had a similar issue which was the tappet, some lad who had worked on it tightened them to the max. Also could the timing belt have slipped?

erm i think it is the tapets now because have replaced them with new ones and i did the timing belt as well and all seems ok now thank you but another problem has now occoured ......... when i switch on the lighs on dip beam the revs drop and starts hunting to get them back any ideas
