info I have available suggested there was an earlier part number (more expensive than 8200064526)

You'll need to check this with a dealer.

I had the same problem with my aerial, the correct aerial had the wrong size thread.

RPD were great. They sent me another to test. I then sent back the one I didn't want.

There was a small problem though, I could not get the exact aerial that came off the car. The following images highlight the problem.

I ended up with the small based aerial. But I have seen these on a number of Phase II, so maybe they changed aerial part way through production.

Interesting to hear the differences.......#002 came with a 'stump aerial' so I am none the wiser as to what that was from.

I also ordered one and it didn't fit. Thought I'd ordered the wrong part so just shoved it in a drawer!

This turned into a interesting thread thanks to GlowRed.
Might be worth to be added to the knowledge-base?

Maybe the threads are interchangeable?
Will try this next.

And thanks for the partno. James.
I'll give it a shot if the antenna cant be modified!

Interesting..
I was once given an aerial from an old scenic or Espace
And I'm pretty sure it was exact match.

I'll ask Paul RPD next week....

When I bought my 255 (it was 22 months old) there was a spare aerial in the boot.... but it was a different length. Both have the correct thread.
(The plot thickens).

Just to round things up.

Right-threaded aerial off the car is about 40cm long.
The new one (wrong thread) is about 2,5cm shorter.

I might just get one off eBay.
They look the same like OEM, are about 40cm long and coming with 3 different threads.

I came across the same problem last year. The suggested aerial by Renault for the PH2 was 8200064526 (top one on the image), but when I received it I found that it was different to my existing one (bottom one) which has a shorter base but longer aerial and it didn't fit , that is 8200282256.

8200064526 on the top is a M6 thread(the one I ordered that doesn't fit) but 8200282256 on the bottom is a M5 (mine).

My brother has another 1.2 standard PH2 Clio and he's got the same aerial as my v6 but looking at other standard clios in the streets you will see both aerials inconsistently so I think they got changed while in production as someone mentioned...

So I have a brand new M6 8200064526, anyone has a new M5 8200282256 for swapping?
