i recently bought a ph1 but it has an aftermarket radio which I don't like. I like to have standard on most items. can anyone tell me does the clio 172 & 182 sir. basically do they use the same unit?
Ph1 head unit is not the same as a Ph2 unit... Ph1 had a tape deck, where the Ph2 has a CD head unit. I believe the Ph2 will plug straight into a Ph1 car though... I have a later CD unit fitted to my Ph1 172.
You have to be a little careful when selecting your OEM Renault head unit.
You can install a 172 (ph1 or ph2) Renault head unit into your ph1 v6.
You must make sure that head unit says 'Tuner List' on the front if it says 'Update List' then it will not work (the rear connections and communication the the top screen is a little different).
So to your question, 172's and 182's do not have the same head unit.
ronan1506 when you disconnect the radio, could you please check that there are two blue connectors that you can connect to the radio?
I'm having some trouble finding the one connector that lets me use the remote behind the steering wheel.
If you could take a picture, that would be even better.
great tip re. tuner list. I see the later ones have update and I could have easily bought one
yes fat board I'll take a pic when I pull the kenwood unit out. hopefully the oem connectors are in tact
my cartridge is missing in the CD changer also. thought I'd never get one but turns put it's the same unit as a megane and Laguna and loads on eBay so happy days. if I'm wrong could someone let me know but I doubt renault had different CD changer units in different models??
I was in the same boat so I bought one off eBay for £25. There are loads on there. Only snag is you need to have power to eject the cartridge. Therefore disconnected the current one. I cannot disconnect the cable for love no money.....
Thank you! Now I know what connector I have to look for.
I only found the blue connector before and now I see that there is a yellow one I have to look for.
