What make are the standard fit brake calipers or are they just made by Renault
fronts are AP Lockheed and rears are by reno, from an older model.
there is much discussed about discs and calipers due to their over zealous pricing.

Lastest update on the rear brakes, after buying a set of 93 citreon XM front brakes, they are the same aprt from a bit of machining on the caliper mount, why its there who knows it's not a clearance problem.

Maybe its so Renault can charge 20 times as much for them.

So seal kits and spares are available on the web for these under the XM lists, I am almost sure the Citreon Xsara calipers are the same too but the caliper mount and pad holder are different as they take a smaller pad.

Pictures of said brakes one showing an angle grinder mod in the caliper holder. Red caliper is original clio V6

Big Red do seal kits and BRakeparts on-line do calipers and all the spare parts. brakeparts on line go for vin 5229 on

Front cailpers are a standard AP design but are made with special mountings to suit the Clio V6, so the spares will fit the calipers from AP, but the calipers are only available from Renault if you want to buy them. IF THEY HAVE ANY LEFT NOW.

Been doing some research on brake pads, in the Renault manual its says min pad thickness is 9 mm but on the AP product info it says 2.5 mm looks like a good way of Renault fitting new brake pads well in advance of when there needed according to AP.

AP part numbers for calipers are CP6605-80S TWR and CP6605-9SO TWR

Clio front pads are the same as
Morgan Aero 8 4.4 2000 on
Noble M12 3.0

These retaining pins can be very rusty after a long period, I had to use a wire brush on a drill and tap them out a bit, then rotate them bit by bit and clean them all up before they would tap out though the other side of cailper, I have cleaned and painted them but there still not great, but for the cost of £1.77 each, I have brought some new ones.

You should think about these if you are looking to do the job in one go, I have read on the Cupra forum that some people have wrecked their pins getting them out.

2 sets of 4 x CP6600-109 pad pins are in stock at
