Hi Guys. As I'm new to all this. Are you talking about the Engine Covers on a MK1? My wife has a MK1 and I'd love to get the Engine on show! Thanks.

No they are talking about the bulkhead. (divider window)

And there is my option which I did myself for around £50 but you need to be happy to have a go at fabrication unless you want to pay someone else to do it for you ... I eventually intend to use carbon side panels and also trim panels around the engine to cover the exposed bodywork and wiring loom etc.

I also wanted the full engine on display as this was my particular requirement.

Having spoken with Ray 5 mins ago I can confirm that Brett and I are still up for these so it is back on for a week or so. All we need now is one more person to commit and pay! come on you lot lets get the price down so it benefits all of us. :thumb

Thanks to Ray for his help in this matter.

Cheers

Having just returned from a 300 mile blat with my newly fitted OMG my brain is slowly recovering and is telling me to sort some sound proofing out !
I was thinking of removing the engine covers and fitting Dynomat or similar but this idea may be untested and prove futile. The other option which seems to have a positive result from feedback is the perspex bulkhead at greater cost.
Anyone tried the Dynomat approach ? or is the bulkhead the way forward ?
Opinions welcome as i need to decide which way to go before the last chance bulkhead buy closes.
Cheers.

Phil

Dynomat has been attempted by my "specialist" in Cambridge. Without going into a detailed rant, I would suggest buying a perspex bulkhead instead.

Bulkhead or no bulkhead, many would say you have made a mistake fitting an OMG - IMHO they really impact the the sound of the car and the pleasure of the drive.

You big jessy Martin!!! OMG's are for men! lol In all fairness they are bloody loud but if you treat the car as a toy, the sound they make is simply epic and once you get over a certain rev range they are fine. Once a nice thick baulkhead is fitted, I can't imagine there being any problems....and I know people may have laughed over it but the cusions in the boot does work!!! Insulating the engine cover will do nothing as its the resinating in the boot that causes the drone.
