performance Camshafts

Newman cams are right on my doorstep, their prices are really good.
I brought 8 gordini turbo cam followers from them which they made to order for £110. The other option for new followers was £50+vat per follower from Renault!

Out of interest do people fit new cam followers on the 21 when a new camshaft is fitted?
I know a cam and its follower wear together hence when fitting a new camshaft its best to fit new followers at the same time so they wear together, otherwise the old followers can increase the wear on the new camshaft.

Its something I'm considering has anybody else done the same?

Nope.

The rocker arm actuates directly off the cam, and then in turn the bottom of the adjuster screw through the end of the rocker arm sits right on the top of the valve. Any wear, which to be honest is rare anyway is easily adjusted up with valve clearence setting.

If you fancy renewing the rocker arms and adjusters, do it by all means. Let me know the prices......I fancy a laugh LOL

Im talking about the rocker arm surface which actually makes the contact with the cam lobe. This is what wears and when fitting a new camsahft you should always fit new followers in the case of the 21 this means new rocker arms. The cam lobe and rocker wear together.

I already know they aren't cheap last time I looked they were £46 each plus the vat. Something I need to look into further as I don't fancy ruingin a nice new camshaft.

They do yes, like bedding in new brakes I suppose, but at £46 each i'll let the old rocker and new cam wear in to each other thanks lol.

Suffice to say I dont put new discs an every time I renew my pads....
