Oulton Park Saturday 25th July 09 - Drift Day

Thinking of doing this. Anyone else interested? Should be a good learing experience.

As K1ano has put up before.

Oulton Park Stage 1 & 2 tarmac rally course.
These are tight twisty circuits which are surfaced with a polished low-traction tarmac that is ideal for practicing oversteer control and drift techniques.
The low grip finish is very easy to drive and slide on and has the added bonus of being kind to your tyres compared with most types of tarmac and concrete.
This is the ideal event for rear or four wheel drive cars and anyone who wants to learn more about how their car reacts in a slide without risking lamposts, armco or the boys in blue .

There will be instructors available on the day to help you with your drift techniques and numbers will be strictly limited to ensure that you get plenty of runs at the course.

PRICING
The price for the day is just £140 including drivers briefing, basic training and in car instruction.

Event Format: Drift Day
Event Price: £140
Pit Garages: No

Itinerary:
Signing on 730-830
Briefing 830
Start driving 09:00
Lunch 12:30-13:30
End driving 17:00

Please remember to bring the following with you if you intend to drive.
1) Your driving license.
2) A helmet (these can be hired on the day for £10)
3) Clothing to fully cover your arms and legs.

The only concerns are that i am driving from the North East, then a full day of ''driffting'' then drive home. Will my tyres be ok?

Any other V6's be joining?

Simon, the circuit is VERY kind to tyres with it being low friction ... I would say you would be fine ;-)

Most people turn up in their road cars and tyres though some do use other wheels admitedly.

I have booked this now so will see you there martin. Does some tickets come through the post after orderd on the trackdays online site?

Do you think i will be able to fit 2 spare rear tyres in the car??? :s Might be able to remove the passenger seat and put them there.

I have also booked the 6th June (in fact just now) ...

Yes see you there on 25th July - I haven't booked that yet but expect to do so in the next week or so, will decide whether to use the Vee or not too

Will be good to meet the both of you.

Likewise - should be a good day (Vee or no Vee in my case) ...

We might be able to get some Northern owners to come along for a mini meet or have a bit to eat afterwards at a local pub ...

A few of us have wanted to see a Luny for a while too LOL

Jainy, Mossy, Rob, Ray, Nigel, Chris ... Fancy coming along during the day or hooking up for some lunch etc. ?

Don't be chicken Martin, bring the Vee!

Would be nice to see a few Vees there slippin & slidin. (or spinning in my case!)

I have taken the Vee once before :thumb It was a lot of fun but the Toyota is more fun  Either way it will be a great day ...

Another bonus is that on 25 July there is a race meeting on 'Formula Palmer Audi Championship' so anyone who is drifting or spectating gets in for free :thumb Just say at the gate that you are there for the drifting and in you get ...

I'm looking forward to this. If I manage to catch the Loony tidy just once I'll be ..... [smilie=bunny_4.gif] [smilie=bunny_4.gif] [smilie=bunny_4.gif]

Decided to make a long weekend of it and take the scenic route. :D

Not long now, off to Edinbourgh for the weekend and then just 5 days to polish the car
(not much point as it will be a mess by the time I get there, but gives me somethink to do)
I have got myself a camera clamp so I can film my attempts at drifting, might be funny. [smilie=icon_cheers.gif]
