Origine RS '17 - At Brooklands..!

As a long standing v6 owner and member of this great club, I can tell you that I and the ORS team are extremely excited to announce that tickets are now available to purchase for this years Origine RS..! This year, we have moved to the historic Brooklands Circuit. New for 2017 as there is no longer a usable circuit at Brooklands, is an Autotest.. along with the well attended Meguiars Show and Shine, traders and all things Alpine and Renaultsport!
Please find details below..

Kindest regards,

Shaun

Come and take part in some entry level club motorsport!

A quick run down of what you can expect of an Autotest:

The Driving Tests will take the format of timed “All forward Autotests” held under MSA licence.

Courses will include the Test Hill, the Brooklands Banking and the newly opened Start Finish Straight.

Drive around several set courses against the clock. The best time for each course will count towards your total. Faults and fails will attract Penalities.

Prizes will be awarded for each class (to be confirmed shortly).

Entry Fees:

A: Driving Tests including Test Hill – £30
Invited MSA Club Members only. (RAOC, Farnborough Disctrict, ACSMC)

B: Driving Tests including Test Hill – £35
To include limited MSA Club Membership. (RAOC)

No passengers, but 2 people may share a car if they pay for two entries.

Autotests will require a formal entry form to be completed closer to the event.

Looking forward to this and to seeing the latest developments at Brooklands. Plus always happy to have a cheeky look around Mercedes World while I'm there ;)

My Top Tip.

At the Autosolos that I have competed in, it is conventional to walk the course before driving to “learn“ the course.

Get a transparent plastic sleeve to put the course map in, with a piece of stiff card or plastic to hold it flat. If it it raining and windy on the day, at least you might still be able to read your course map when you get to the end of the walkaround.

Given the notorious poor lock on V6s, there may be some 3-point turns if the course is tight

Please request the course man not to lay out the course so we can't make a turn in one bite in a V6 !!

I'm not sure the width of a runway is enough room for the turning circle of a Clio v6 Martin.. I'll see if we can encompass the Transport Museum as a roundabout.. :)

I'm in Shaun, but won't be able to stay all day, as I have a friend's wedding to attend. Thoughtfully he's decided to hold it near Dunsfold, down the road.

Look forward to it, and seeing everyone again.

Haha..!! Good effort Aj!! Brilliant... see you there. Thank you!! [smilie=yay.gif]

Many apologies - I cannot attend due to one-off work commitments (I relocated my business this summer and am still overwhelmingly inundated).
I nevertheless bought a ticket just to help the OrigineRS team balance the books - this is our event and it needs v6clio.net members' support (even those unable to attend this year).

Kett.... so sorry to hear you're unable to attend ORS this year. Purchasing a ticket still is though is so very kind of you, thank you.

This years event has been... challenging to say the least, hence its been to late to get promoting it around all the usual groups etc. For those of you that are able to attend this year at Brooklands.. We hope you'll enjoy it..!

Back to you Kett... Look forward to seeing you at an event in the not too distant future..! Best wishes to you and your team at your new premises!

Thanks mate. :lunar:
