One more project?

I'm bored! And when I'm bored I need something to do, like tinkering. The 220 doesn't need anything so I'm thinking of doing another project to give me something to do.

My latest thoughts.... Anyone remember these? But my idea is to drop an F4RT engine in, they had the non turbo'd F series lumps in there so my thoughts was to go mapped 225, cage, bucket seat, centrelocks, etc etc.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who daydreams, I mean hey if Neal can drop one in a 19 😁

do it man. the laguna has been one on my hit list for a long time, either with a normal 172/197 f4r or with the f4rt. built in a green or blue chassis too. would be cool to do one with the correct bttc arches and bumpers aswell! chop chop get buying and building

It's a conversion that's crossed my mind a few times over the years, it's definitely something I'll look into. I need to find out things like if they do coilovers for it, price of an engine plus ancillaries, if the 4 pots might work. I know of a cage fabricator so I'll look into a price for that too once I'll delve into Google at the BTCC archives to get a rough idea of how they look.

It's something to think about..

It's the Supertourer link that's winning me over. 20 years ago I went to my first BTCC race at Thruxton and it was epic, they looked and sounded immense. I have soo many photos from that era.

I'm thinking the Green or a Glacier White as a base model, if white then along the same lines as my old track phase one Clio 172. So black bump strips and mirrors, black or silver 18" centrelocks, white or red cage, 1 bucket, flocked dash, Sabelt steering wheel, carbon in places.

Meg 225 or 250 engine.

and a sodding big angle grinder so you can smash the mad lows like the BTCC cars ..

if they dont they can custom make stuff, the price from gaz for custom coilovers is the on par with off the shelf items.
I'll have a Google as well, I wouldn't want to commit to something to then find out the costs would become ridiculous.

I was thinking the megane with a turbo lump in there 300-400bhp but if they dont float your boat thats cool. Touring cars very different to rally special :) just more off the shelp parts including body kit etc

Think touring car would go into custom bits no idea if bits available for them mind

Clio williams maxi era crossed my mind also
