19 Oil leak additives

Hi,

My F7P engine in my 19 16v has developed a slight oil leak. Just seems to be a few drips at the moment. Had a look and I can’t really see where it is coming from- somewhere at the back of the engine on the cam belt side. Guess a seal somewhere has perished.

I don’t really have time or inclination to fix it at the moment, been looking at using an oil leak additive to try to stop the leak. Just wondering if anyone has used one of these additives before? Seem to be quite a few to choose from so I am not really sure which one I will go for.

I would absolutely not recommend anything like this, a chemical that makes oil set or solidify is not a good idea.

Big drip tray for the drive and keep topping it up until repaired would be my approach.

Snake oil and prob cause more harm than good. Fix the leak properly, replace whats needed.

Lucas engine oil stop leak.

Used it a few times and worked a treat.

Also used the power steering version which again worked exactly as described.

The Americans are good at making something that stops you having to strip apart engines/ps/gearbox etc to fix a little leak, lazy useful buggers that they are.
