5 GT Turbo Oil change.

Question for you all;
I've been hunting through past posts to make sure I'm using the best oil for my 5. So, what oil are you using in your Renault 5 gt turbo?

10/40 ? - 15/40 ?
Duckhams, coma or castrol magnetec?

Thanks for your help!

Be aware that fully synthetic oil can loosen up sludge that can lodge itself in the passages if the engine has been driven on mineral or semi-synthetic oils before. Especially if previous owners haven't kept up with the oil changes.

In my 21t I always used Elf Competition 10W/40 semi.

/40 is too thin when hot for the old 21 engine (IMO).

I use fully synth 5w50 (Valvoline VR1). Over the years I have literally seen the difference in engines where this has been used. In the earlier years i used 10/40 too but i'm fully converted to the VR1 now.
I use the same oil in the 9, with the C1J, again 10/40 is far too thin for a rattly old pushrod.
