You won't find much that is not known about the Vee on here. Id agree on the tyre mention above... mine is on its original rubber from 2004 with 9500 miles. Its a PH2 and I can feel it doesnt grip like it should, so a PH1 will be worse. I have new michelins ready to go on.

on this side of the pond the new michelin pilot super sports were not available in the OEM sizes. I ended up getting some yokohama AD08Rs, excited to mount them! noticing a whistle when i tap the gas pedal, and a real buck at slower speeds when pressing lightly on the gas in first gear, mainly when the engines cold. seems to go away after its up to temp. i'll search and see what i can find.

Also check big air hose is properly attached to the side pod.
