Odd bits on my V6, aftermarket?

So have finally gotten the Clio (big thanks to James!) in hand and registered on here. Now wondering if this is a dash overlay? The carbon fiber bits were they an option or aftermarket? And since it's a Japanese car it has this Leuticia plaque instead of the nice numbered Clio V6 one. Can I get a Clio one made with my last 3 digits of the VIN?

[mention=1292,#2b2b2b]Duncan[/mention] and [mention=265,#000000]RUSSO[/mention] may be able to give advice on the making of a plaque. Knowing your original car/plaque number would be the normal to have on the plaque, unless you specifically want the 3 digits from your VIN.

Hi Trevor, yes the carbon bits and dash overlay are Japanese aftermarket (or simply wrapped).

Personally Id leave the Lutecia Plaque on and wear it with pride. All cars supplied to Japan from new had these plaques. The phase 1 Lutecias were not numbered. To replace it would be a loss of identity.
Personally I would avoid putting your last three digits of the chassis number on it. Reason being that no other car has that and it may only serve to confuse when others find out there are two cars wearing the same numbered plaques.

I could probably tell you what your original plaque number would of been from your chassis number though if you wish.

I'd agree with Duncan - keep your original plaque.
Much kudos to keeping the car original.

The upper and lower dash regularly appear for sale on cliosport.net when a Ph1 172 Renaultsport Clio gets broken for spares. That's assuming yours are covered in adhesive!

Thanks for the advice gents! I would be curious to know what the plaque # would have been, but yes I see your point in keeping it Japan original. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the interior pieces.

I must admit that when I was looking for similar - I found communication with those selling on cliosport.net very trying and tedious. In the end, it was easier buying similar items on eBay.

Be aware that the Ph2 172 parts will be mostly unsuitable. Take care making sure they are Ph1 172 parts.

Snappy did mine within a couple of weeks & using alcantara material I reclaimed from some 172 seats.

Guess its also dependent on his workload as his skills are in demand.

Ok, thanks for the info. I have to say after 3 days of ownership, this is probably the most fun car I've driven, and I've had plenty of aircooled 911s. I will be looking to remove some aero bits now.

Is there a stock lower spoiler I need to attach after removing this one?

Is the duckbill trophy spoiler available? Would love to add one to my car.

Amazingly it still had the factory tires on it, slight cracking on the sidewall but holding air!

I found the PH1 handling relied heavily upon tyres in very good condition.

Stock lower spoiler is basically a strip of rubber underneath, if you could get the original it would be lots of £££.

That's a novel appendage you've got fitted there... some merit to keeping it. Read on!

Firstly, many Ph2 owners have fitted Russosport splitters. Russo is our in-house fibreglass hobbyists.
These are primarily to protect the lip of the front bumper which is easily prone to damage.

Effectively, you've got yourself some bumper projection there. The aero benefits are dubious though. I'm not sure about the benefits of the original
rubber strip though. I think it was probably scuff protection and most have been lost to this cause. Your can search 'Fabia splitter' and decide whether this option suits you.

The other alternative is to find yourself a V6 Trophy splitter (to match your desired ducktail V6 Trophy rear spoiler). My Ph1 sits on slightly longer springs to accommodate this.

Original V6 Trophy splitters and spoilers are nearly impossible to come across. Furthermore, the spoilers don't fit the bodywork without a Russosport base - but can be fitted by a good body shop.

I believe Mr Russo now has the moulds for all of these components, but Phil is very busy with his family, daytime job, V6 Trophy project etc. I'd PM him, open your wallet and start grovelling...

Hi Trevor, I have a mould for the Trophy splitter But not enough time in the day to make them these days!!!!

For the ducktail spoilers you can still pick them up now and again but you will be paying a premium for an original. The second option would be a copy item from EBay Trophy spoiler

As [mention=343,#000000]Kett[/mention] mentioned above I have recently purchased a set of fibreglass moulds for all the Ph1 Trophy panels and with them is a splitter and ducktail spoiler mould but yet to try them so couldn't tell you what the parts are like. Hope to be trying the spoiler mould soon and will post an update on my progress thread, Link

The DZUS were outrageous from Renault - so these can now be sourced aftermarket for reasonable money.
