Stick-on UK Badges for the Meggy Numberplates fitted (which I actually think look ok) and off to Ashford tonight, before early crossing tomorrow morning.

So, up with the Lark at 5:15am this morning, and get the show on the road:
Quick drag from Ashford down to the Eurotunnel and it was queuing at the first barriers as they’re not allowing you to check-in using the automated machines at the moment due to Covid, so you have to speak to a chap standing there who gives you your boarding pass.
Thankfully, he asked us if we fancied an earlier crossing than the 7:50 we’d booked, and we took him up on the offer.
Next thing you know, our numbers called and we’re straight off to the train:
Board the train and was directed to the upper level, and dam near taken to the front of the train. When guided to a stop, the guy crouched down, and asked if I fancied swapping my car, for the train!? At which point he then showed me his Renault diamond keyring and gave me a knowing wink! A fellow Renault enthusiast!!
We ended up having the whole carriage to ourselves, and took a few pictures:
Before you know it, we’re in France and following a spot of breakfast, start the drive to Adenau.
Got nearly to the end of Belgium by lunchtime, so stopped at a small town and picked a random restaurant off Google:
which turned out to be FABULOUS! @Millie_Bee had a Moules Spaghetti that had massive fat Moules inside!
After the lunch, we carried onto Adenau and saw an indicated 210kph on the Autobahn, before traffic stopped play.
On the drive into Adenau, we passed a lot of the devastation from the floods in July 2021 that happened in the region, and there’s still an AWFUL LOT of work going on to clean the place up!! There’s many places that look like a war’s just finished!!
Arrived in Adenau at 15:05 and checked into our little apartment then straight down to the Nordschleife, to get a lap in, in what I thought would be the quietest day of the weekend… turns out many other people had the same idea!!
So crash-lids on, and off we went!!
The car performed fabulously… but I’ve totally lost the plot of the place, having been soo long since I was last here, I felt nervous out on track:
Following the lap, we retired back to the Devil’s Diner for a coffee to calm my nerves. Then back to Adenau and the Obligatory fill-up of 102ron unleaded fuel at the filling station there:
Next stop was Lidl for urgent Curry Ketchup supplies, before a drive over to Schuld, where we all used to stay many years ago when we started to come to the Nurburgring (2007) and where the worst of the flooding occurred:
Back to the Apartment for a coffee and chill, we then went out to grab a bit to eat and bumped into old @marcel who was stood on the path!
Found a restaurant, and have a smashing dinner together catching up on recent Renault goings-on.

Day2 started a LOT later than usual as we were not on a mission to get up, we had a relaxed breakfast then started the day at Breidscheid, viewing point:
Then we went to Wehrseifen, viewing point:
Before returning to the main entrance to meet up with Jasper (Evil Jesus) and Ido:
The boys decided to go straight out for a lap!
We then dashed to Brunnchen, viewing point to get some video of the guys going round:
We then had a ride over to Adenu Forscht viewing point, which for the first time since I’ve been going there, allowed people to drive up the frikkin long hill, rather than walk!
By this time, the track started to dry, so I fancied another lap, so drove over to the main entrance, and on we went!
Everything was going well… actually much better than my 1st lap on Friday afternoon, as I felt more relaxed.. until I started to see the old yellow flags waving, there was a couple of accidents that had occurred fairly recently:
This one didn’t look too bad, but the air ambulance had to land for it..!
When we got past, we got back to the paddock, and they had closed the track! So we had a quick walk round and a few photos:
Usual mix of the massively expensive and exotic, interspersed with more regular people in their track hacks!
The new Yaris GR certainly seems to be the car of the moment!! There’s LOADS of them here!!
After the track closed, @marcel and I had a ride and got some arty pictures:

Day 3…. What the F….!? 
Did we just stumble into fast and the furious Nurburgring Drift…???
YEP!? We must have!!?
We bought a couple of tickets to the European Time Attack Masters event… but the closest I can describe it was a cross between the Jap Show and Ultimate Street-Car at Santa Pod?
Awash with JDM Imports and Ricers:
Great to see the Holy Trinity together:
Then a load of SPL Drag Cars running crazy ICE (as we used to call them back in the day) installs. Some done REALLY WELL:
And some… still looking like they’re bringing the MDF back from B&Q
We could only take so much of this, so had a quick walk round the Ring Werk and a spot of lunch:
Before returning back to Adenau Forscht to have a look at the cars going by. Looks like a few people got unlucky:
But I certainly did get lucky, spotting this Renault 5 Turbo having a couple of cheeky laps:
This-afternoon was actually quite warm, and we finished off the day enjoying sitting out in it having a cuppa:
I did notice today, that wherever I seemed to park the Megane, it seemed to attract another..!? Not sure if it’s on heat, and it’s mating season!??
So there you have it, an abridged version of the TurboRenault Ring Jolly 2021. Travelling home tomorrow morning.
Great to meet up with some of the Dutch regulars, and great plans hatched for 2022 which I’m sure reports of the events, will be posted on here in-time.

Just back home now after driving nearly all day. Made me chuckle about the UK papers suggesting the Eurotunnel was in disarray, but we got there, and the place was empty, put onto a train 1 Hour ahead of our booked time!!
In total we did 838 Miles from Ashford on Friday morning, to Adenau (and around the Nordschleife) and then back to Sunny Peterborough today. Car's looking properly grubby as you can imagine after such a trip and the epic rain we saw in Calais this morning!
Just been having a dig through the racetracker.de website, and bought the following high resolution photos to add to the collection (These are only the proof's):
In total we did 838 Miles from Ashford on Friday morning, to Adenau (and around the Nordschleife) and then back to Sunny Peterborough today. Car's looking properly grubby as you can imagine after such a trip and the epic rain we saw in Calais this morning!

Cracking trip with a great right up , never done it , would like to at some point , car looks spot on . It looks like it did you proud.
Yeah it did alright, although I wasn’t anywhere near driving it to its full potential round there!! It’s a flippin crazy place!!

My picture gives the impression of a "Max verstappen" overtaking maneuver. Unfortunately it wasn't, I'm afraid to say, the BMW was overtaking me 
@Big Steve - Raider What you did in miles I did in km's. The way home was a lot of fun. Multiple times long distances of 200+ (120 miles p/h) with of course the acceleration after passing the vehicles that had to go on the right lane. Several times cars tried to tag along, like VW GTI or Seat RS, but they couldn't keep up really.

I know what you mean about the photos looking like you are overtaking, rather than being overtaken! I've got a few like that also, as cars were coming past me!The fastest I saw on the Autobahn was 212kmh (131mph) which felt really fast as I was doing it.. but knowing that some people can go a LOT faster, it seems a little disappointing! You can't beat an old Renault 5 keeping up and beating the usual Golf GTi & Seat Cupra's etc... I used to own a MK1 Clio 16v with an Audi 225 engine which was epically fast, for such a small light thing. I'll never forget the look on a guys face driving a Honda S2000 who waved at me thinking he was going to leave me, as I overtook him joining the motorway...
@Adey 's Twingo GT running a Turbo F4R engine is my current favourite car, looks so unassuming, but CRAZY FAST!!
