Clio Not the usual sort of car for retirement...PH1 V6.

Things are moving along nicely.

The original idea was to get rid of the exit pipes from the ends of the box and bring 2 x 3" pipes out from the back. However, this would've meant the tail pipes sticking out too far.

Onto Plan B, the exit pipes will remain at each end but will be 3" dia stainless pipe and the 90mm tips will go onto that. The box will be covered with a sheet of stainless as planned, will tidy it up and hide the seams

Although the wheels were refurbed at a Mag Alloy place when I bought them last year, there was a bit of corrosion on the inner barrels of the 2 rears. When Scott removed the wheels to send the car into the bodyshop, he rang and told me the paint was popping off where the corrosion was and he put it down to poor prep.
I spoke to the place that did them and although they said they'd redo them they were non committal re the corrosion.
Scott spoke the place he uses and they said that before repainting they'd need treating with Zinc Chromate, after searching Google apparently it's used to counteract corrosion on alloy metals so, off to them the wheels went....hopefully should be all good this time. Wheel studs have been fitted so the wheel bolts have been consigned to the bin.
The wrap is planned to go on next week all being well and the car should be back with me by the end of the month. Then into the detailers for about 4 days for him to work his magic and have the decals reapplied.

Old v new exhaust tip. albeit on the old pipework.

Exhaust tips? Who needs them?

With the pipework going from 1.75" to 3" it made things a bit tight so, no tips needed.

All that remains is for new wheel studs fitting, rear spoiler refitting and the wrap to go back on and it'll be on its way back.

Done. Dusted. Back in the garage.

A few detail changes on the decals....tyre branding has been taken off as with having 2 sets of Cromos, one with Michelins (silver) and one with Yokos (yellow) I can now change the wheels on a whim without worrying about decals. A huge nod has been given to Scott, he warranted it with pulling all of this together.

Some of the previous decals had quite fine lines on them and trying to stop them lifting at the edges was becoming a pain. The new deals are more solid, if that makes sense...I know what I mean...and edges lifting should no longer be an issue. A few colour changes on some of the decals also.

Although I can't use it for now, it's still good to have it home....even if it is tucked up in the garage on it's life support 👍IMG_0051.webpfullsizeoutput_675.webpIMG_0053.webpIMG_2612.webp

Almost a year since this was updated although needless to say, with the way the last year has been not much has happened!

Yellow wheels are history now and are now done in dark grey, a black flocked dash top has gone in and Scott (SGM) has 2 door cards waiting to go in. These are also black flocked with some parts in black nappa leather.

Fog lights have now disappeared and replaced with blanks ala V6Trophy. Also ala V6 Trophy, headlamp covers have been made to clip on for shows / events.9CB52248-8B5F-48B0-9879-A53E1E03734B_1_201_a.webp56F21547-7439-45B9-A3E3-3B8C55CF694C.webpFA9BDE88-C18F-40E7-9CA3-1F627E1A45E3.webp

Looking forward to the Donington meet up, just up the road from me.
