ok simple minded loopee here

i got a silver mk2 (old one) think thats right think they run around 250bhp as mine is de catted as well with induction kit if i put a 50bhp shot off nos take it up to 300 for like 500 quid, that right?

would u recomend it? bad things about it?

best company to go for?

and where to put the bottle? and size?

thanks

Bottle behind the seats on the shelf....................................any size, I use 11lbs.
I've seen small 5lbs bottles in the little space they call a boot.
Bad things are you have to keep refilling the bottle.
You could use a 50hp shot straight in but a progressive controller is always recommended and essential for higher powers.

ok cool, what u running on yours, is it safe too me? and too the car?

and whats the controller for?

price for all this fitted with controller?

You'll need to read up on nitrous as there's too much to explain. Basically I used to run a 50hp wet kit and have changed to 100hp direct port. Like any tuning it's safe if you stay within the limits of the rest of your engine and follow the rules. The controller delivers nitrous progressively rather than instantly. It's safer and user configurable.
Price with small bottle, controller and fitting approx £1000-1200 I reckon.

sorry to ask again but how long you had yours? and safe im guessing yeh?

so if i was to get your set up, how much?

Had mine over 2 years.
My set up is expensive, well over £2000, I have 2 X 11lbs polished bottles, one in the car and one spare. The direct port system has custom made injectors and purge.

Start with small amounts and get used to how it works.

thanks for your time, diddent relise yours was so complex haha

nice to here from someone who has a simple and effective set up and can recomend me to someone who has fitted this set up to a v6 already

and where is my nearest place for re filling in essex?

List of dealers on noswizard.com They also offer a collection service. They have fitted basic wet kits to several V6s already. They are the only people you should you talk to.

You should be head down working on the extra decals your bulhead can take!!!!!!!

I have a box full waiting but I'm concerned about the weight!!

TWR1, do you need an upgraded clutch with a 50bhp power increase? If so do you know anyone that can supply and fit one?

Simon

Being a bit of a Nos numpty, how do you use it in the car. Do you press a button and it gives an instant boost. If so, how long can it be sustained for and how many 'goes' do you get from a bottle?

Uprated clutch is highly recommended if you can find one!!!
Checking at the moment to see if, with the Trophy flywheel, I can fit an AP Racing twin plate clutch................

It is possible to rig it up to work like that but not safe really.
Most kits work on full throttle only. You flick a switch to arm the system and once armed it activates when at full throttle only.
How long it lasts depends on how big your bottle is, and how big your jets (power) are. You usually use it only for a period of seconds at a time as you accelerate upto terminal speed (1/4 mile).
The maximiser will deliver gas progressively and therefore more safely for the engine, eliminating wheelspin and so not wasting gas. Kits are supplied initially with 25bhp jets but that won't mean you get exactly 25bhp, all engines are different, some will make more, most make less owing to richer/safer mixtures. You can expect a torque increase in the V6 approximately double that of bhp, so the car will feel much quicker even on small power.
You might be surprised at your power figures. Most Mk1s make about 220-225bhp, with your mods you might see 230. Adding 50bhp of nitrous might only make 20-30 in truth if checked on the rollers. This is because bottle pressure is crucial and if not kept at the right pressure with a bottle heater you'd be down on power. For example mine was fitted originally with 100bhp jets but when checked on a cold day with low bottle pressure it made only 25bhp. It still was much quicker due to the torque increase. It was then fitted with a bottle heater and remapped for a genuine increase of 50bhp and absolutely flew.........
It is now running direct port and will have 100bhp.

i got 50 and 75 have run both...excellent results!!

Clarkie or TRW1 are there many outlets that can fill up an N2O bottle?
Is it best to have 2 11lbs bottles so as to always have a refill?
Can both bottle be fixed in the car and the supply changed over easily when one runs out?
how many seconds does 11 lbs last?

Thanks

my bottle lasts about 10 mins of continuos use (you wont use for that long). my supplier has gone bust!!

ok so thats about 120 5 second bursts.
I can never seem to find a NOS refill centre map?
I will keep looking.
How much is it to fill up 11 lbs?

I am trying to way up TB's against NOS, bhp/torque and price over 5 years of useage :)
