non start when warm solution

I'm chatting to Scott about it now to order the parts

Believe there is a solenoid but also vent itself?

Will replace both and let folks know

Just trying to take a stab at locating the part for WONGY and myself.

Looks like No. 2 (82 00 024 427) should be the solenoid valve/canister bleed solenoid valve (as ref. in Section 14-1)

The canister should be the flat-rectangular prism looking thingy sitting on top (left hand side) of the fuel tank.

What do you guys think?

To test number two in the first image (the part I changed), simply disconnect the existing part and blow through it, if you can blow through it then it's kapput!

Thank you sire :salut:

Is this the same part as I looked up but just with a change of new P/N? Are they specific to Ph1 or Ph2?

Just got the part from Scott that he recommended to change

Part number is 82 00 660 852

Will fit in next two weeks :)

Update - part was fitted but didnt fix the problem

Granted it's minor issue but annoying - especially considering my dealer had the car for 3 weeks to fit test the part along with MOT :(

They're now checking other stuff e.g. suggested crankshaft sensor, fuel relay & pump (pump changed 2007), earth strap, throttle body, plugs, UCH (linked to immobiliser) ,fuseboxes, wiring etc etc on advice of Scott who i gave a call

Very frustrating :(

I have never changed anything in the end the problem just went away. The issue happened when I first got the car towards back of last summer, so wondered, if it was a build up to to much heat in engine bay? But since using the car daily she has never had fault again. (Touch wood) I am waiting for a amazingly hot day and then go for a burn up to see if that triggers fault, but the way the weathers going might have to wait till next year ?

It's alot hotter here in Hong Kong - 35c today infact so i'm sure its a factor

Since its only hot starting likely some relay / electrical part malfunctioning when the cars sat for a while and heat soak

Just going to take some time for them to find it

My final update since sold the car

Issue was traced to fuel pressure regulator. It's integral/part of the fuel pump so had to buy a whole new fuel pump

Basically malfunctioned when hot so wasn't regulate sufficient fuel when hot starting :)
