Nice weather for Quadras..

I have better/safer vehicles to drive in this weather so the 21 stays put.

never had problems driving my 19 in the snow apart from the time
it just would not go up a step hill covered in ice .
on the other hand i enjoyed the fact that streets ,parks etc
were empty .

Great photo mate.

Yeah makes me miss my old 1916v's aswell .. underated fantastic little cars, id love another to skoot about in but i guess thats never gonna happen :( ..... guess its better to have owned and lost a 1916v than never owned one at all ... lol

thanks guys :)
just out of interest ,how do you compare the 19 16v to a 21t or/and
quadra handling wise ??

not in snow btw

If driven hard, the 19 lacks power out of the corners for me. Otherwise it's on par with a 2wd.

Quadra? Bye bye.

Is that pic from down by sully slipway? Left the M3 home for a couple of days as it was just useless, the 21 and the alhambra had no problem though.

Shacks, i had a Ph1 for 5 years and a Ph2 for 2 years and i luvved em mate .. i sold my Ph1 to buy my 21t actually.
The 1916v is obviously not as powerfull as the 21t but that dont make it a bad car, it makes up for it on the handle i would say .... the thing is with the 1916v power is that it is useable power, but admittingly it maybe could have done with a bit more torque.
Imo the 1916v handles better than the 21t but it is a smaller lighter car, i reckon my 19's were the best handling cars i have owned so far tbh ..
The sound of them 16 valves in that F7P on full song always brought a smile to my face .... the steering feel was perfect in them and the gearchange was liquid, and i always thought the sitting postion was nice in them with the dash being higher up and the seats are just lush ... a cosy place to be ..

I was a passenger in one a wee while back and the guy was really caning it round the back roads and i had forgotten how good they were ..

We also own a Ph1 Megane 2.0ltr 16v and as you know it basically a reshelled 1916v, so i get my normally aspirated kicks from that as its just like being back in a 1916v .. except with abit more power and torque.

I have no experiance of Quadra's im afraid :(

Shacks, have you ever thought about doing a Megane 2.0ltr 16v conversion on a 1916v ? ... im sure it would really transform the car and your keeping in the the Renault F7 family ...

woww , thanks for the input roddy , much appreciated :icon_cool:

never been in a 21t , in fact never owned a turbo car at all,
thinking about it :icon_confused:
would really like to feel the difference in power but like you said
19 handles almost perfect comparing it to many other cars i had in the last
15 years . deffo lacking torque though :(

i have got a f7r here waiting to be fitted to my r9 as soon as
the body work & respray is done . that leaves me with 2 spare f7p
engines (not counting the one in the 19 btw ) and the main parts
for a low boost f7p turbo conversion (manifold, ecu mapped to 10psi ,
21t injectors ,map sensor etc )
just need to work faster i guess

CRAIG , yes mate its right behind the skip

Im sure you would like a 21t Shacks ..... they are great cars in there own right aswell. I do alot of long miles going back and forth to work and also when i go and see the family up north and i find the 21t a great car for that, it loves the long journeys and soaks up the miles no bother and the addictive mid-range power is still well enough to keep up with other modern cars and make for overtaking bliss, plus its nice to have folk coming up to you and commenting on the car .. just dont sell your 19 as you'll regret it ... lol

bitch just snapped a clutch cable last night :icon_evil:
luckily i was 2 miles from home and managed to get back allright

brand new clutch cable , clutch pedal and ratchet kit was fitted
less than 1.5 years ago as well :icon_eek:
anyways fitted the spare cable i had here and i am back
on the road again :icon_cool:

If memory serves me correct 1916v's were buggers for snapping the clutch cable's due to the sharp angles they were put at between the pedal and fork .. i know my Ph2 snapped one on me once in Blackpool at 2 in the morning ... lol ... just about to pull away from the lights and ''snap'' ......

I've also heard the UK 19's eat clutch cable's for breakfast.. Not a problem on euro ones..

true those sharp angles are a pita indeed .
lhd cars would never have this problem ,also i can imagine it being
a piss easy job on lhd valvers .
still shame the steering wheel is on the wrong side :icon_razz:

been driving since with not pressing the pedal all the way to the
floor. getting another cable from renault to keep as spare
on friday . i think though she has had enough with 7 years of on and off
abuse . once the 9 is out the workshop ,i will get the engine out the 19
and give it some hard tlc :icon_twisted:
