Newbie - on the hunt for a ph2

Hi all

I've always admired these little cars and now I've finally decided that I'm going to buy one.

I've been looking at a ph2 and wondered if anyone had any information on these ones?

Motorhub - awful dealer reputation aside, it looks OK

Another dealer

I appreciate that dealers have costs to cover and they need to make a profit but something tells me that these are a little overpriced.

£23K would be my absolute max so probably going to wait until a CAT car comes up or for a seller who is in a hurry to sell.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

welcome!

The first one is a little tired, but it is low mileage and 1 owner, but hasn't been cared for. A few of our members have viewed and all commented that it needs work and have walked away from it.... would suggest its over priced. It used to be driven around

The second one has spent its whole life in Guernsey and only recently imported to the UK, this advert is the first time I'd seen the car. No history known. Looks a few k over priced.

You should be able to snare an average (50k miles) but non CAT ph2 for 23k if your willing to wait. You may need to be prepared for the big cambelt service in that price bracket though!

If you need any help or do give me a shout.

Duncan

Thanks for the replies chaps and the offer of help, I really appreciate it.

With regards to that one on eBay, it's overpriced as although it's low mileage it'll need work doing (wheels and side pods back to standard before I've even looked at the cambelt) it's also a CAT D. I'd say it's a £19.5K car

Patients is key :approve:

In my opinion most 50k milerss are pushing up around the 25k mark, but as Duncan says 23k is possisble.

But go on condition, motor hubs car is a classic example looks good on the face of it but has been neglected.

go view a few get a feel for them before you part with cash is my advice.

Yeah I've heard nowt but bad things about that one and that's even before you take into consideration the seller's abysmal reviews.

I've got my heart set on one from elsewhere at the moment, just waiting for everything to fall into place then it'll be mine [smilie=yay.gif]

Hi all, sorry to hi jack the thread p4cks, but I’m also looking for a phs2 and have looked at the Motorhub car, thought it was a bit of a rough diamond, needs some tlc for sure, price reflects the condition I guess, anyway looking forward to deciding on one and joining the group!
