New little project

I have finally got my hands on a project car. 1997 Renault Clio 1.4 Maxim S 3 Door.

As some of you may already know, it came standard with RSi alloys, bucket seats and boot spoiler. So, if I find LOADS wrong with it, at least I can use it for bits.

The downside to the car is that the sills are, well, what sills? Saying they're rusty is an under statement. The bodywork needs some attention, such as a crease in the offside rear quarter and lacquer peeling here and there.

I'm not a mechanic by any means, but hopefully this will be a learning curve for me, and when it's done there will be a real sense of achievement (hopefully).

The engine runs sweet and the interior is in good shape. Apart from the bodywork, it's a pretty good little car.

I'm getting a workshop at the end of the month so I can work day and night in all weather, as I do not have a garage at home. Whilst I'm working to sort the Clio, the Laguna will also be a project. I haven't decided whether to strip it and track it. Or, drop the V6 into a 19 (with the help of mechanic friend of course).

As soon as the projects get under way, I'll be sure to start a couple of project threads (:

19 V6 would be good in a straight line but all that weight over the front wheels won't be good, it will also loose its eagerness, bens got the right idea using a 5 door shell for his v6, i think its going to be a fast cruiser probs!, as for the clio maxim, fix it all up, better wheels and brakes rip the standard engine out 5 GTT engine in job done ;)
