New Dealer cambelt price!!!!!!

V6 Ade

New Member
Got through to Office in Manchester due to fault on wifes scienic (soon to be replaced due to being a money pit , with another saab 9-3 Cab) and chap asked if had any other questions so asked about cambelt on the Vee.

Anyway come back with price of £1148 with water pump change and done at any main dealers. Last year the main dealers were wanting to charge me for the job twice if water pump was done hence over £2k!

Anyway at £1148 it's booked in at my local dealers in Bolton for cambelt and service.

If anyone want's the guys number PM me.

Not the cheapest but at least i get that main dealer stamp in the book!!! They have done a couple in the past so should be ok :s

After having quite a few dealer "experiences" I have found myself going down this route...

Ask to speak to the service manager.

1."Are the mechanics on bonus?"

2."i will be having it inspected afterwards and if there have been shortcuts taken, clips broken etc etc, it'll be coming back at your expense"..

It is a bad job having to do it, and no doubt sounds a bit crazy, but its a sad fact that its so hard to find anyone who cares these days, but its your pride and joy, and at the end of the day its potentially all down to a spotty 18 year old, who was out until 0400 and fell out with his girlfriend so his minds elsewhere.

Sorry for the rant, i'm sure it'll be fine..........after all, he will have "Renault" overalls on................

I would take it to scott but it's getting it down there and working it round my shifts, a main dealer is not my first choice but i'd rather have it done than not.

Motech Vehicle Solutions near Chester have done a number of V6 cam belts, ex Renault technitians, also look after some T2's ...

Phillv6 had his done there recently with a major service, mine will be booked in there in a month or so. They can supply Renault parts or pattern ones and the prices are VERY competative though I would prefer not to quote exact figures but think Phill paid well under 1k - they are happy to discuss options with owners.

Andrew and his son Tony run the show on 0151 339 2100.

On this subject i will be doing a bit of a write up on the service i get at ezra sugden in march for cambelt/service/MOT/coolant+brake fluid change, won't give out the price as i got a deal on it when i purchased the car, but from what i have seen, both speaking to independent garages the price i have is virtually impossible for them to beat, and they don't have the experience ezra have.

Not sure, i have not heard anything, apart from the website been down as the account as been suspended, would be a shame if its true.

Fraid so Pugs

Ezra went into administration last week and have since stopped trading, their phone goes straight to the answer machine. The owner lives a couple of miles away and im going to have a word with him through a good friend of his to see if their technicians can still offer service work outside of Ezra Sugden renault [smilie=boohoo.gif]
