Well, another week off work and a bit more done on the car. Yesterday I cut a couple water hose joiners and dropped them off to be welded this morning. While I was waiting for them to de done I finished off the disc spacers.

And then found this sitting on my milling machine

I did hack it off with a grinder, just finished it off on the milling machine

Right, the plan was for Dave to come down on Friday to help take the Quadra box out and fit a 2wd box for mapping. but it RAINED all day. So yesterday I started at 9 and the exhaust came off in 10 minutes

All the prop bolts came out very easy, but would the prop come out? NO! Because I'v had to move the gearbox back to fit in the bigger clutch, the prop was hanging under the car pinned in between the gearbox and rear diff with just not enough free space to drop it off.
One good thing I can do is lower the rear of the sub frame, so with this 2" off the car and a lot of getting under the car, then under the engine, then over the engine, then back under the car...... repeat this 100 times the prop came out.
After the prop was off everything was straight forward, its always a shocker how heavy the Quadra gearbox is!

Couldn't you have left the quadra box in and just removed the prop to make it 2wd and save changing the box?

Like the side exit, got the same on mine, I only have one silencer in mine, bit bigger than the ones your using, it brings the noise down a little but not much,lol, it does seem to let the turbo spin up quicker.

Would you gamble a Quadra 'box on it being OK?

Just wondering what would go wrong, once the motors set up it will see a lot more abuse on the road with the quadra box in then it will on the dyno, reason i ask is i'm gonna have the same issue, the guy who will be doing the set up on mine only has 2wd dyno and i don't have a 2wd box to put in but i do have a spare quadra box.

I say again.... are you prepared to gamble a Quadra box on trying it? I'm not!
