My Quadra

God, a prop bearing like that would make my life sooooooooo easy! The strengthing bar that links the transmission tunnel was redesigned when the last 2 1/2" exhaust was made due to lack of space.
Andy

LOL @ re-designed - did Dave get his Cadburys racking out again!! :icon_eek::icon_eek:

Just a thought Andy - have you tried to rotate the bearing around 180 degrees so that the part thats getting in your way actually sits up into the tunnel rather than hanging below?

I think with a bit of fettling it would rotate around you know mate.

Either that or remove the corner nearest the exhaust, perhaps welding in a little bit of flat plate giving you some more clearance to play with as the all that bit underneath is just for a different mounting isnt it as you can see the mounting holes at the bottom of it!!!

Well I think its time I did a bit more work to the old beast! I'v got next week off work to play, and the list of work is....
Finish off the exhaust
make sure the clutch hydraulics work
get the car off the ramps
finish off the fuel system
refit the standard brakes to get the car moving while I finish off the 4 pot brackets
fit cat cams vernier and adaptronic and start engine

So far this week I'v finished off building a 21t engine and dropped it off to the dyno.... not my engine
Also I'v done a bit of running around to get parts together, and this afternoon put all the standard brakes back on just to get the car moving.
Tomorrow, now I'v got everything to finish off the exhaust, that's first on the list and then the last couple of bits for the fuel system.
Watch this space :-)
Andy

Today I got the exhaust and fuel system finished and also fitted the monster 110 amp alternator. Tomorrow is D day, will it start?

Andy

Well, we got it to the point of trying to start it, but we were short on time....

Tried for half hour but didnt seem to be getting anything from the 36-1 pickup on the crank pulley....either that or the coil is dead.
Still, it's getting there! Andy has done a LOT more than you'd think from the jokes and jibes lol. Pics later!

BIG thank you Dave for coming down, Its what I needed to get me going again. Having said that I need to go back to work for a rest, I'm knackered!

Few snaps-

The rather phat sidey- Very nice job indeed.

We had to get it down. It was up HIGH in the air considering where we were!

i17.photobucket.com_albums_b79_DaveL485_IMG_0272.webp

Has it really been THAT long?

i17.photobucket.com_albums_b79_DaveL485_IMG_0274.webp

Making a pump loom for the pressure pump, from the wiring for a HID bulb kit. Rather tidy job, except Rabson-san bought the wrong size rings for the pump fitting lol

i17.photobucket.com_albums_b79_DaveL485_IMG_0276.webp

Finally proof of a much contrived event. Rabson actually DOING something on his ornament!!!

**Shock**!!!

LOL

Make no mistake though boys and girls, there's some serious kit right here. There's nothing that i've seen in 21-land that is going to touch this thing once it's been mapped. Not even the current quickest UK 21Turbo that none of you know about and believe me that thing is a rocketship.

Thanks for the pics Dave. It all looks the same/normal to me until someone else looks at it
But, the tail pipe isn't finished, the turbo on the car at the moment is just for running up, it'll be changed for a GT2871R(thats sitting in the spare room), it came off the road 5-6/05 and GOD I look s##t in the second to last pic! Having said that, not as bad as the rabbit friday night! FPMSL

Andy

Wow. Impressive stuff.

The ornament has just got a lot more expensive parts on it.

Its going to be like a ming vase soon

:)

Well i have the same cooler, its just the rest i don't

Nice one Andy and Dave, look's like she may be back on the road soon.

Its been 5 years, why rush it! LOL

I must say that there is 5 years worth of work there, and its very impressive having seen it in the flesh (albeit in the air!!)
Cant wait to see it running and see what power you get from it.
Quality work.

Rich.

Dave......now you're just trying to wind us up - you know VUK is still in Belgium......:biggrin:

Seriously though - it's about time it was back on the road - i haven't seen it since the rolling road shot-out in Luton....& that was chuffing years ago....
