My Quadra

If I'd had a larger block of aluminium knocking around I could have machined something with a bolt down clamp. But all I had was a bit of flat bar and an off cut of 60mm bar.

Andy

I'v just ordered and HE30 aluminium for the caliper brackets, so thats next

Andy, is that cadbury quality? lol.

What would be the cost's involved for the work as i'm going to need some brackets making up at some point soon.

HE30 is the grade of ally that the guy in ppc mag has just had his caliper brackets made from, its suppost to be strong enough to put a good thread in, but I'v designed my brackets so that everything can be nut&bolts.

Cost wise the 2 25mmX20mmX200mm are ?13.50 delivered off ebay but lots of time measuring up and making (the fuel pump bracket took 5 hours to make, its all about the fun of being able to make these parts and not pay someone else to do it)

Good to see you're finally making some progress mate.

Are you going to rubber mount the pump as well?

What pump are you going to use as a lift pump?

Who are you? LOL

yer the pump is sitting on 3X2mm thick strips of rubber, the 'lift pump' is a standard cossie pump as its still mounted where the standard fuel pump is and the swirl pot is it the engine bay, and the one in the engine bay is a 044 pump

Well I haven't done anything so far this weekend, but last week I got the car up on ramps at the back and axle stands at the front, no bad as the car can't drive its self!

Also after working out how I was going to bolt the calipers to the hubs, I thought I'd better see if they where going to fit behind the rims......its tight, but I like it tight! about 3mm clear!

Also I'm not going to post all the pics of my engine build, so here's the link

Now the 4 pots fit behind my 16's, I'm going to sell a set of 17's I'v got. The rims are brand new as are the goodyear rubber, the parada's are low mileage. Both sets of rubber are 215/40/17 to fill up the 8j rims. If anyones interested drop me a pm, I want ?400

Then played with the milling machine to drill and countersink the discs

Having done that, it means I could do this:icon_biggrin::icon_biggrin:

Picking up momentum now Andy.

Those calipers look awesome, Where did you get the solid mounts?

Lovely jubbly, although some deeper pads wouldn't go amiss you've got a good 10mm of useable disc under the pad that won't be touched.

Craig he's making the adapters himself I think.

Nice setup, but bit of an overkill for stopping it rolling out of the garage :icon_lol:

Yer I'm making everything myself :icon_lol: I'll post a pic when the brackets are finished, but they are very simple

When the brackets are finished the calpier will be sitting about 5mm further in, to get bigger pads you'd need a different caliper and they wont fit behind 16" rims

Well I'v had this week off work to get some jobs, and the first was to sort out the rust I found when taking the drivers side hub off
