5 GT Turbo My ph1 resto!

Some of you will know my car, Ive had it for ages but decided last year that I wanted it better This a very short story of events ! This is how the car looked last year, not too bad but paintwork let it down. The engine was rebuilt to o.e spec afew years ago by me so didn't need anything doing



Luckily I bought all the ph1 kit band new from Renault over the years (except for bumpers and grille!) All in original unpainted loveliness!



Structurally the shell is mint, I got a quote to repaint most of the car in June this year, whilst it was away I set about making a decent ph1 interior out of the two sets I had,


MINT!!


Had some original dealer sets made up



Had the wheels done by Platinum alloy wheel solutions in Swindon, superb job



When the car came back from paint, I had my newly made replica ph1 decals fitted






I then put everything back together and ended up with a car like this......What do you all think ? It pass its MOT last week but I will be put t bed for winter now and only used in the summer

I think phase 1s of most French cars are cosmetically the best,they progress technically through to phase 3 etc,but in looks the purest in first incarnation.I had 205 GTI,21T,and R19 16V all first phases.However that bonnet scoop on R19 16v That leaked all over spark plugs pure idiocy,remember messing about with silicone sealer well.

thanks for the comments, a decent ph1 has got to be a rare beast now !! still got afew small jobs to tinker with over the winter but it will definatly get used next year, also looking to take it too france aswell
