my ph1 cab sprayed up with the wheels on

I think you have done a very good job, car looks very straight and the wheels look good. Not the colour I would have gone for personally, when I see a car that colour I always think it isn't finished...

smaller plate for the rear maybe or stick it back on the boot (y)

Each to their own though, good job over all.

i think its a cracker, looks mint, as the lads say not my choice in colour but theres a massive scene for this colour and over the 2 or 3 times ive looked at the pics its grown on me more and more, id have the plate between the rear lamps though possibly with something similar to the black stickerish thing from the original ph1 in there too, cracking job mate, real stand out car

IMO the rear plate relocation looks daft but otherwise I like it a lot.

I test drove a Clio 197 at Renault world series a couple of years back in a similar colour. Looked awesome!

cheers chaps, i love the colour(land rover grey), its got a nice glossy finish on it,i have had a couple of comments off the neighbours about primer colour, but they are pensioners,
i wouldnt go for black,i have never owned a black car,not for me,

the only renault 19 colour i would have been tempted by was 449 blue, but had 1 of those already(ph1 chammy, want another as a daily0

the number plate location is not going to be for everyone but i prefer it where it is

i wanted something different, the windscreen surround and mirror bases are gloss black, the ariel has been removed and smoothed along with the bumpers,

as said its all about opinion, according to the local yoofs its "sick as f--k", or indeed "f--k-n phat man"

as i am 40 in a couple of months i am half way between the yoofs and the coffin dodgers and just think its spot on

i meant to comment on that, i really like the gloss black around the windscreen, whether its marmite or not i think it is fantast, really eye catching

The colours not to my taste looks like clear coated primer, the rear plate position is just plane shite, the boot panel need to be black again to break up the grey and the wheels look smaller with the silver lip. Just my opinion, but each too their own and if your happy thats the main thing. 10/10 for the time and effort you put in though.

I like it, looks a nice job but would leave the lights on as would blend into the road somewhat. Then some numpty would say I did'nt see you coming.

loving the colour mofo, cant wait to see it fella, when you coming over to mines then? you can park next to mines at fcs ;););)

as for number plate - great minds think alike fella... same place as mine :P

has the clean look not reached your parts yet, no need to come over as rude useing words such as shite, and i think you mean plain shite, not plane shite, it cant fly

boot panel will eventually be all grey when i lose the boot lock and badges, i want the car as a slab of grey, the lip on the wheels is not silver, its same as the body, and they look small because they are small at 15"

i dont mind opinions and i know its not the safe bet doing something different, but lets be civil about it, i mean i could have wasted my time effort and money on a boring back to standard rebuild/spray, ZZZZzzzzz

just my opinion

I think the 15's you have chosen suit the car very vell and i'd stick with them. I have 18's on mine and they are not to everyones liking but I love them on my car, even though the comfort is zero lol

Are you thinking about lowering it? I think it would look very good lowered with the smooth look and your wheels. (y)

I am getting a set of coilovers soon so I would have pair of new front 40mm springs going for next to nothing if needed?

Good luck with the rest of it.

cheers bud,the 15,s are standard to the ph1 hatch and chamade, i have put a hatch bonnet and grill on,i have ph1 hatch sideskirts to go on at a later date,

i would like to lower it but the torsion bar is seized, i have a spare rear beam so will have a go at that,

if i manage to free the bar off i will probably go for lowering springs over coilovers, i love the look of a seriously slammed car but had an old shag bag of a b3 passat on coilovers and couldnt get in my works car park and scrapped my way over every speed bump, i dont really want that for the cabby,

if your going for coilovers on 18,s getting the arches rolled might help;)

It sit's well at the moment with the spings but it just isn't stiff enough with the springs, if I does go any lower at the front I think I would need the arch's rolled.

Are you attending FCS? I'll see you there if you are mate. (y)

i will be there, speak to jay(blue chammy) at fcs about shocks, his car is as tight as a nuns fanny

my car has new standard front springs on which helped but is still a bit soft on twisty roads, if i cant lower it i will probably go for uprated shocks, either way a new full set of bushes is on the cards

I'm just giving my opinion won't pussy foot or sugar coat it for anyone if i see it as shite i'll say it. The clean look reached me 8 years ago when i resprayed my 19 the 1 time. Think i know the standard wheels are 15" i own 2 sets. Would you of liked some smiley faces so it came across less harsh well thats not me.
