I've not once, ever skimped on paying for good paint work Ant.. that guy seems to be taking the Michael..
All the money goes into the preparation and prime, is that when the budget ran out Shaun?! :violin:

Dont get me started on the paintwork of some cars i could think of... :troll:

Back on topic...

Who's doing the wheels Ant? Got the colour sorted out ok?

Like I said, can't fault the job itself, spot on,
Just the issues with half painted bumper. Spent a few hrs touching in stone chips last night and to fair, once detailed you wouldn't know the difference I'm sure.

Company called "Thewheelspecialist" in Fareham, they have done all my alloy refurbs and been spot on.

Is there a specific paint code for the wheels?

There is, but I just went for the Wheel Specialist Power Silver. Offer it up against the car. It's not a million miles away from the OEM colour, plus a lot less hassle!

Paintcode would be interesting to know.
As i dont think the ixell code thats been posted on the forum in several threads is the right one....

I talked to a wheel specialist the other day and he made some comparisons to the OEM paint.
He came up with "MIPA Vicrom" as the best match he could find.
It looked right to me...(with black undercoat) but its still not the original paint :(

Well here is a shitty pic of any car after the wheels have been refurbed. Just got back in after a frustrating few hrs. Arrived to pick up car at 5pm to be told one of the alloys needed to be redone due to bubbles in the paint. 3hrs later I set off home. On the way back my car drove like a piece of shit due to them not balancing the wheels correctly. Fucked off is a understatement.

All they do is refurb and balance wheels, this is the 3rd they have done this to me. Really pissed off.

They are going to have I pay my local fitter as I am not doing another 100 mile round trip to sort.

Anyhow pic.

Real sorry to see the hassle you're experiencing Ant.

As someone mentioned on CS, Lepsons have been very good at v6 wheels. Their old branch at Swindon is the one that we use through Scott at SGM. 'Chrystal Silver' is the colour name iirc.

They are now 'Platinum Alloy Wheel Solutions' 01793 887222

I suspect you're probably stuck with the people you're currently engaged with for the moment, but if you're still not satisfied, try Platinum.

I recommend you Platinum as some said. I got mines done 2 weeks ago with them through Revolution Detailing. They also got two of them straight as they were buckled and are perfectly balanced now. A couple of pictures before and after:

They are almost the same, light conditions are different though, first is outdoors and second indoors with same camera.
