My New Car (Warning, Non-Vee Content)

As most of you know I had to sell my beloved Vee back to IanT due to worries at work. It turned out to be a good move as we were told the other day that our office will close in 4 weeks time. I'm hoping to be one of the "lucky" ones to keep my job but it will still mean working 35 miles away in Exeter. If/when things settle down I will get another Vee but in the meantime it's back (for a 2nd time) to front engined Clio-related fun: :)

Shame there aren't any Vee's in this colour as I think it rocks 8)

Ed, car looks great and very clean. You'll defintately have a lot of fun on the 35 mile trip to work in itt.
Hope things work out ok job wise and then you can grab another vee!
Matt.

i just love Monaco... don't really understand why they never continued using the colour - add's to the rarity factor though!

whats the miles on it? hope things work out ok for you on the work front - it's for similar reasons that i'm still lurking in the wings before definitely making a purchase

Thanks Gareth

It's only got 50k on the clock, managed to haggle it down £600 to £3k so am quite happy. Rarest colour for a Phase 2 172 I believe :)

Work is rubbish, loads of people in tears and nobody knows what's going on :(

Thanks chaps, sad times but onwards and upwards.

What respray? Just the bumpers?
Both bumpers, and 3 of the arches have cracks in the fibre glass- so thats getting fixed, and everything apart from the roof is getting done- wheels getting refurbed too. There will be a thread on it, charting the progress.

When i went from the Vee to a 172 for winter i hated driving...Such a miserably driving experience in comparison!

That said...BEFORE i got the vee i thought the 172 was a great car so swings in round abouts really.

I know what you mean mate, I wasn't too happy last year when I went from the phase 1 to a 182. This time round though I feel a lot better, I think it's mainly because I'm driving this one hard and it's actually very rewarding.

I'm sure the empty feeling will return though. Hopefully I'll be back in a Vee in the new year :)

Looks great, superb colour and a bargain at £3k. Doubt you'll lose any of what you paid on this for a couple of years tbh, just in time for work to pick up and put the money back towards another vee. Point to point you are probably better off in the 172 for now, especially with all those great roads in somerset - that thing will be rewarding to drive even when the weather turns crappy.

Hit the nail on the head mate. The good news is I kept my job (for the time being) so now have to focus on winning my new contract which would see me safe for another 3 years :)
