My Gordini racing cars.

No, the pause was a 5 sec handicap. Several guys quicker than me were behind me with another 5 sec and 10 sec etc. handicaps. Sometimes the handicaps are well calculated like me and the Ford Falcon (Falcon is the Australian version), I just managed to catch up to him at the end of the race and could have passed him if it wasn't for the green Honda Civic that caught up with me again. Sometimes these handicap races gets real hectic towards the end because theoretically all the competitors should go over the finish line at the same time.

DaveL485,

I am running a 30-60 mineral oil. The make is Penrite and it is an Australian make that we get here in NZ. I'm using it because they reckon there is a full count of ZDDP in. That is the Zinc content that prevented the cam deterioration in the old days. Your suggestion to use Synthetic oil surprises me because I thought that it is not really ideal for old type engines. I have seen that it is very thin when you pour it into an engine. My view is mineral for old type pushrod engines and synthetic for the new DOHC 16 valve stuff. Am I wrong? Because I will go for the synthetic stuff if you guys use it in the R5's and R5 Turbos.

Yes the sump is heavily baffled. I would like to get a higher volume pump as used in the R1135 Gordinis which I don't have. Maybe I'll get an early Christmas gift!!
