So i have been on here for a good few months now so i guess i better say hello officially.:dh: My name is Dave as my username suggests and i am from the Rep. of Ireland and have owned my 225 since October.
I actually really like it considering when i bought it i had never driven one and i had only seen one in the flesh ever (2 months before i bought mine). But i went to a car show here in Ireland when Turbo Ted kindly invited my mate and I down and i saw a megane 225 there and really liked the look of it. I had always liked them in pictures but i thought it look a bit beefier in the flesh, so i went on the hunt!
I bought this one from the UK and i am very happy with it, it has a few little parking dings around it but nothing a dent removal guy wont sort out, couple of other dents on the sills where some plank messed up with a jack and the wheels need a refurb, any suggestions on colour for the wheels??
It's a September 2006 Cm1v, 67k miles, full service history and completely standard. ( for now :aq
Only needed a drop link to pass it's Irish MOT (NCT), and i changed the thermostat because it was not reaching the correct temp on the gauge, so not bad in the first 8 months.:ay:
I had an Evo 5 for 9 years before the meg, which was 360 bhp so the meg feels a little sluggish put it is deceptively quick, i think the fact that they are so quiet on the standard exhaust makes them seem slower? I also have a tungy gt turbo for the last 11 years which is the baby and will never be sold, but the meg is now my sensible daily! Seems to handle quite well out of the box which is great, but i would love to put a set of cooksports on it, i think they look way better lowered and i want an R26R spoiler too. I swore that i would not start tuning it but i already have the itch for a few bits so we will see!!
I have no record of a cambelt change in the service history so ill definitely be doing that very soon, it needs discs and pads all round and the swivel bearings have just gone, so i have a few bits to do with it. I will up date this thread as i get bits done and hopefully put my own twist on the looks of it!!
I would like to thank Andybond for twice getting the build sheet for me, and i have already found some great info on here, between people's posts and the resource section, so i better skimlink all the parts i buy!:ag:
I gave it a bit of a clean at the weekend so ill throw up a few pictures, Albi is a hard colour to photograph because it looks so different in sun and in the shade, very bright in the sun and almost purple/blue in shade, it really is a lovely colour!

Any comments, suggestions or otherwise welcome.
Thanks, Dave.
