Picked up a cheap Clio 1.2 for my OH. Advertised with 2 keys, came with 2 keys, great I thought.
However it seems one is for the ign, one is for the door locks! Not only that but the ign key doesn't lock/unlock the doors on the plip of the fob (battery was flat, but replaced and still no dice). Door key is solid, non plip.....didnt check it till I got back so didnt notice.
Door key doesnt fit the ign barrel, ign key doesnt fit the door lock. Also, actuating the door lock does NOT activate the C/L, I believe this is by design though. The C/L button in the dash does work though and all 5 doors lock/unlock on that.
Question- Lets assume worst case the ign barrel has been changed and the key isn't for the original RF receiver what steps can I take in getting a new plip key for the car, OR getting a replacement/reprogrammed unit? With the door locks not tripping the C/L by design, without the plip, getting in and out is going to be a right pain. I'd like to get it sorted while i'm MOTing it before she needs it in early December.
