Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres

Just whilst on the topic, I recently got some supersports from Oponeo

They are £112 a tyre for ph2 OEM fitment (215 40 fronts) including VAT and delivery.
That is a cracking price Duncan - fronts are now up to £122 per tyre, but rears are £119 each.

Great tyre, slightly numb feel on turn-in (Exactly the same on my M3) - too much of a coincidence for it to not be the tyre. (But extraordinary levels of grip)

Where are people buying tyres from this month? Iv had a quick search and don't seem to be able to find the pilot super sports in 205/40 r18. Is it just me being a little blind?

Ali how come you use 215's?

Think I went 215 on the front due to availability at the time.

Thanks mate.

Does anyone know if the 205's will become available again? I'm not urgent but thought I'd replace the tyres to brand new on the front after a wheel refurb that's in the pipe line.

Same as Jitstar, no 205's available at the time. Although, that being said, I've run 215's for 6 years.

Just ordered some 205's from the local tyre centre I use. Got to wait 8-10 weeks though as they've got to come from the manufacturer.

I bought mine in March 15 and the rears were manufactured in the 42 week in 2014 and the fronts in the 3week in 2015.

I'm willing to bet you won't notice any difference between a 6 month old tyre and a month old tyre. They are still in plastic when they arrive.

This is road car not a race car and we're talking about fast road tyres not slicks. Compound is the same, I spoke to somebody at Michelin about this (Well technically the tyre is two different types of compound) but they categorically never made a secret softer compound which you've mentioned before. Only vehicle approved tyres. e.g. MO, MO1, NO, N1, N2, (*)
