Clio Meglio sender unit ???

Renny 5

Well-Known Member
After having my meglio for getting on a year now I’m starting to get a wiff of fuel and after inspection it looks like the modified fuel return is leaking. I’ve seen supreme motorsport advertise a built item and guarantee no issues but before I put my hand in my pocket, is there a OEM sender with a return that I could use and fit my walbro pump into??

You wont need 5bar reg if running a return setup as assuming you will have a reg up front near the fuel rail. Id just put another an fitting into the stock fuel pump top

I’ve got a 3.5b reg at the rail and I’ve had it surge afew times when it’s been about half a tank and I assumed it was because there weren’t enough fuel in rail top end. I was actually gunna ask you what your set up was because your power figures on the kangoo are just above my clio.

Any pics of your engine bay? If your running a return setup and 3.5bar reg at the rail, you will need a 1.5ltr surge pot fitting to sort that out and fit a decent main pump, using the current intank fuel pump as lift to the swirl pot.

Mines single pipe 5bar intank reg with deatschworks pump, with meg 250 fuel rail and rising rate setup. Mine will be the same surge wise, i plan on running over half a tank on track for now and will do a proper surge pot and return setup next year.

It’s not the tidiest, still a work in progress. I’m running a 197 sender with intank 3.5bar Reg and a walbro 255. I’ve got a billet 3.5b fuel reg near the rail. I assumed that a 5bar intank reg would help ease the surge as it’s running 350/350 power wise. I want to try and stay away from an anti surge tank as this is my daily and I’ve already got the battery in the boot

5bar intank reg wont help surge, its limitations of the stock sender/pot in tank. Any close up pics of the fuel lines and reg up front? Mount a surge pot and pump underneath the car if needs be.

I’ve used the oe push fit fuel lines and the return ends up being a 8mm copper fuel pipe under the car. I’ve got a billet fuel rail and Most of the lines are hidden and the fuel reg is behind the drivers head light. Tried to patch up the barb return connect with some Chemical metal just to get me by whilst I moved house and it’s ended up looking like a dogs dick hence the reason I’m replacing the sender unit and going todo a proper job this time round.

Id bin all that pipework for ptfe an6 hose and appropriate fittings. New standard sender, and drill the top to fit an an6 bulkhead connector, and use an adaptor to run an an feed line straight from the pump barb.

Id go swirl pot underneath, you could use the type that run the 044 pump inside the pot to save room. If no room underneath you could slip in one of the boot corners out of the way.

Think that will have to be on the cards if that’s the solution. It’s going to be a work in progress though because the renny 5 goes back to EFI on the 24th for mapping and that takes pride place over the clio.

Swirl pot is definitely the answer to fuel surge. The 5 will be good on the throttle bodies, I always fancied going tb's on my old kangoo 172 for the noise alone keep us updated on how mapping goes
