Megane ABS Pump

Hey guys, I'm back!! Wow this brings back some memories lol. I have got a question which involves a Renault.....altho it isn't a 'retro' renault. But.....I couldn't think of anyone better to ask than you guys, so here goes....

My parents have got a W reg 1.6 16v Megane and the ABS light has been on the dash for a while. They took it to our local renault dealer and they've said it's the ABS pump and they've been quoted the best part of a grand for repairing it! The cambelt hasn't long snapped and they had that repaired at a cost of about £1,200 so they don't really wanna spend another grand on it.

My question is, are any of you able to find the part number for the ABS pump I'd need to look for on a year 2000 megane? I've tried looking online and have failed.

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated

If its deffo the pump and not a road wheel sensor or reluctor ring then you're gonna love me cos I've got an ABS pump sat in the garage at the minute doing nothing. Its off of a 2.0 16v but it might be the one you're after.

Mick, you might possibly be my hero!!! Now all I need to know is.......does anyone know if that will fit a 1.6 16v, even tho it's off a 2.0 16v??

Why is this part so hard to find online?! Google the part number......nothing. Tried GSF Car Parts, cheap car parts direct to you and all of the other parts websites I can think of.......nothing. Ebay......nothing. Well, some on ebay but don't think they are right for this year of megane. It's almost as if it doesn't exist like.

I dunno if it could be a road wheel sensor or reluctor ring (I don't even know what one of those is! lol), but I'm guessing the road wheel sensor is okay cuz the car's been on the diagnostic computer at renault and it would have picked up on that, right? No sensors were showing up faulty. My mum was trying to explain to me tho that they were having a lot of trouble trying to find what was wrong, and I think they only think it's the ABS pump. So yeah I dunno really.

By the way, how much would you want for it fella?

You'll have to check the pump your end to see if it's the right one or not by looking for the part number sticker. It'll always begin "7700". This is off a Ph1 Megane Coupe that was on an P plate so it may be slightly different but until you locate your Mums unit and check you'll never know. These items are usually genuine Renault only though which is why you're having problems finding them elsewhere and they're also pretty pricey as you've found out. I think the unit for the 19 still RRP's around £900 which is silly really.

If it is the pump that you need i'm open to offers on it. I don't want much as I just want it gone and out of the way.

That's not always the answer though is it... some people like having ABS (For some reason)

I've had a look on dialogys and the closes i can find to an abs pump is:

77 01 043 728 REGULATOR SC 524.98 ---3 x 1 for bosch

and for teves there are these two

77 01 204 888 BOX ELEC ME 361.25 ---3 x 1

and

77 01 204 887 BLOCK ASSY ABS ME 410.90 ---3 x 1


Personally I'd just to look at the pump on your 1.6 and compare visually

BA0E should be the right vehicle code for dialogys.
