Megane abs pump location

Hi I'm new to the Forum bought myself an 05 Megane 225 to use as a weekend toy to replace my Jaguar S Type R.

I've done a few jobs on it standard Megane Fair from what I've read (heater motor window module and battery drain caused by fog light switch).

Now my attention has turned to the ABS warning system pulled of the Drivers side front wheel to check the voltage to the abs sensor and I have no Voltage to the sensor. My next check is a continuity test down the wiring loom from pump to sensors I've only had a brief shufty and I couldnt see where the abs pump is located could anybody advise where it is please.

Cheers

The Abs pump is under the scuttle drivers side, not the easiest to get to. I managed to get the connector off and test it but ours is a 175 dci. It was very tight.

Check all the large fuses under the upc, and there is a 10 amp fuse for abs next to the glove box. Good luck took me a year to sort ours and I didn't do anything differently from the first time I checked everything.
@Mark_L is well versed in Megane ABS systems.

Thanks for the reminder! 🤣

Nice one thanks Mark I've had all the fuses out and tested them. What were Renault thinking with a fuse board that you have to remove the battery and ecu. I was thinking it may be the module failed on the abs pump. I havent got round to testing the feed to the other 3 sensors. I'd had a look around the engine bay and couldnt see it I've just been and had a look where you said and I can just see the little blighter.

My multi meter and power probe have never seen so much use lol

Are these things common for failing

I bought a pump but couldn't bring myself to try and change it after seeing where it was. Bought myself a can clip and tested all the sensors and the readings were OK, I just couldn't get rid of the braking fault on the dash. The first thing I did was clean up all the fuse connections etc pulled every fuse. Did this on several occasions checking everything, cleaning earths etc and seemed to have everything?? Even tried a different upc.

Managed to get some info, which was basically what I had already done, did it all again without any expectations. When I started it the braking fault was present.😭

Then I moved it outside our workshop gates, after I turned it off I realised it was off, so re started it, it was off? Drove it to 10mph which is when it came on after a reset and it still didn't come on!!😁 still off to date..

Make sure all connections are spotless. That's all I can think of.

Good luck.

Nice one Mark sorry for slow response. It's a strange one as soon as i start the engine i get the abs warning light I have checked all four wheel sensors now non of them have a feed so I need to check that the abs pump is getting power.

I recently had my gear linkages changed as one snapped along with a decat fitted. Since getting the car back the dash it lit up like it’s Christmas with ABS fault, steering lock not activating and the speedo no longer works (revs work fine). I connected up my code reader and it couldn’t communicate to the module, it read the speed as being 225MPH so reset that and now reads 0mph but I can’t get live data from the sensors. All are connected so I’m thinking it’s either something has been unplugged or disturbed?

The battery isn’t the best and does drain if left for a few days so that doesn’t help the issue either

If whoever did the work gave it you back like that i'd be returning it for them to resolve!
I may do at this rate, it's a mate and was a while ago but I haven't used the car for a while, I'll chat with him later and see if he can fit it in. He did have a quick look back when the work was carried out and connected it to his snap-on but as usual, nothing came up or obvious what was going on.

Just bought a Renault Megane dynamique literally yesterday drove it down the motorway now the abs lights on went off this morning then got home came back on, any tips on what it could be?
