Wanted Megane 225...

Chris Smith

Well-Known Member
Hi Guys,

I am after a Megane 225, 3 door only, Looking for a clean car, low ish miles (will look at high mileage if well looked after/History/Recent Belts etc).

I have around £5,000 to spend, not looking to spend much more than that.

If anybody has one or knows somebody who has one for sale please let me know.

Cheers in advance.

It has amazed me how these have held there value compared to other fast Renaults would love a r26r
The special editions seem to hold value very well....the plain 'ol 225's are bottoming out though. Have seen them for a couple of K, one that Bond sent me was £1500!

OMG,I was going to buy one pre UK sale for 16k at the time 2006,when I sold my house.Less than 2k now, thats horrific depreciation. On par with Jaguar a few years back, they are a nice motor.another option has been added to my sub 3k wishlist :drinks.gif:for my weekend plaything in near future.Shame Clio V6 aint so cheap lol.

For what you get they're a real bargain now. I'm still super chuffed with mine, 10 months later. Less than 8 years old, 40k, auto xenon's, full leather, keyless go, panoramic roof, cd changer, sat' nav', brembo's, plus all the usual bits and bobs. Not forgetting that grin factor that only a hot Renault can give, for a fair bit under £4k! Thank you very much!

just watch out for the electrics - They're crap :D

I think Renault employ blind people to splice their looms together,if I remember rightly,Mr Bond,or Dave485 told me years back, that near retirement Renault workers did some wiring??.Had major problems at the time with my 21T.Megane a beauty!!!,u can live with the foibles,as such fun.my lasses 09 plate 207 GTI a different story!!! arrrrrrrrgh.POS

Not overly keen on the blue, but has some nice mod's, milegage is high but a good price. Pros and con's, lots out there for a good price

Looking at this tomorrow, not a fan of the stickers and coloured wheels, but its local and cheap...

k-Tec map tho
Belts and water pump replaced nearly 2 years ago, FSH, 71k miles

Gumtree is free... So a lot of crap on there...

But at least this car is local and won't waste much time and money if it's a dud.

Also if the seller is to tight to pay for an advert he may take cheeky offers (this car add is over2 week old and a poor advert...

Gumtree is fine to buy cars from,i find more interesting stuff on there than Fleabay,or Autotrader.Pistonheadss nowhere as good as it used to be either.Good luck with the car hunt.
