Maybe worn clutch?

I've the last couple of days experienced that what feels like the clutch slipping.

While driving in 2nd and 3rd when I accelerate over 2000 rpm the revs increase but the speed dosen't.

I just want to confirm that this is what could be symptoms of a worn clutch.

The car has only been driven 52.000 km and I've owned it for the last 20.000 km.
I've always pressed the clutch pedal while standing still to not use the clutch while waiting for a hill start.

Duncan you don't happen to have a new ph1 clutch laying around for a good price?

I have been in touch with so many today, and I've sent off an email to SG as well.

Or would it be possible to retrofit the ph2 clutch?

Scott acquired some of these - direct fit I believe.

Kett I hope he has at least one in stock! And that the price won't be too expensive.

Maybe it's possible to have the old one refurbished and the forum can start a swap trade where we send in the old clutches and receive a refurbished one in return?

Like what Oldskoolbaby suggested here: viewtopic.php?f=102&p=226015#p226015

Scott did have one refurbished in stock, but he will not ship it to me before he receives my old one first.
Thats fair enough, I often do the same on exchange stuff.

DaveL485 I understand him when it's the only one he got left.
If he had like five of them in stock, then I would wonder why.

Hopefully I found one now and have ordered it. If I'm lucky I'll have it by the end of the week and probably installed in the car next week.
Then I'll have one in spare that I will send to Scott to have it refurbished.
If someone needs a new clutch they can buy mine as an exchange.

We'll see.

Just to give you an update.

It was not a worn clutch (as far as I know).
There was a leaky seal from the gearbox to the clutch so it was full of oil. This meant that it slipped when accelerating.
The workshop is not yet finished with the car so I don't know what all the problems were.

Hopefully it will be done by Friday as they are waiting for the seal.

Surely you will need a new clutch plate then?? A contaminated friction plate will slip all the more.

Once the friction material is contaminated its game over, it needs to be replaced.
