Megane Matt's UR Megane R26

hi everyone, ive never posted on here before but ive owned my megane for coming up to 2 years now. i have a project thread on cliosport.net.

After owning my clio 182 for the last 5 years i thought id have a change and get something a bit bigger. there was only really 2 cars to choose between a golf gti or a RS Megane. after looking at both i preferred the looks of the megane and stay loyal to the RS brand. The only colours i were looking for was Glacier white or Ultra red after looking at a few of them i picked this up on Saturday just gone.

heres a few pictures of it

couple more little updates

whilst browsing on ebay i saw a intercooler for £125, i dont think its much bigger than the standard one buts its 60mm thick. the outlet on it was a bit bent but should be easy to bend it back and the welds are not that bad considering the price of the intercooler

Next up it the forge induction hose kit. i already had the throttle body link pipe so i thought id get the induction hose. what a pain it is to do up the jubilee clip on the turbo, the person who owned it before must of had trouble doing it up before because the standard one just slipped of.

last thing i have done was to fit the hard pipe i painted with the wrinkle paint, i also sealed the oil separator on the top of the engine as it was leaking oil a bit.

i thought i would buy another filter for when the one on the car needs cleaning as they take a while to dry. i went for a BMC double cone filter, had to wait about a month for it as it come from italy. i had asked at euro car parts if they could order me one in as they are the UK distributor. one member of staff said they dont do BMC filters www.rsmegane.com_images_smilies_confused.webp and another one said they only do veichle filters. so i rung up larkspeed and they said they could get one www.rsmegane.com_images_smilies_wink.webp

lastly ive been thinking about a underseat subwoofer, but looking at the dimensions of them they would fit under the seat. so i set about making a small box for the boot that wouldn't take it up the whole boot. i went for a JBL 8" subwoofer and a small Pioneer amplifier. i still need it cover it in acoustic carpet. i also fitted a 2nd boot light on the other side, i done this in my clio as well as its very easy to do!

i got them from oponeo, a polish tyre suppler. not sure if they came from Poland or if they've got a depot in the UK. cheaper than camskill aswell!

fitted the inlet manifold and top engine mount bracket. tried to do the cam cover but couldn't get to the lower bolts, so that can wait till the cambelt needs doing

fitting the inlet was actually easy, the inlet ports arnt like a clio where they are machined the megane are just cast aluminium finish
