Mass Air Flow Sensor

Hi guys, I need to know where the mass air flow sensor is on a mk2. I'm guessing it's somewhere between the pipercross and the intake manifold, but it's a bit cold out there to be tinkering away blindly!
Thanks,
Matt

I might be wrong but I don't think the Bosch ME7.4.6 has a MAF or MAP sensor ... I think the Maps use temperature & exhaust sensors and volumetric efficiency data in the ECU map ...

SPIKE mentions a map sensor yesterday LINK

The manuals refer to something in that area as an air temperature sensor. (not air flow)

k1ano, that makes sense, as my car has been producing flames recently. So i guess I should just change my petrol and check the coils.

I have found some really useful (I think so anyway) technical details for this ECU which explains how it works, diagnostics, reprogramming after component replacements etc.

I will try and dig out the links but here is a starter for 10 which covers various Laguna engines & ECU's including the ME7.4.6 (not Clio V6 specific though) ...

Engine & Peripherals (see section 17)

In fact the link above explains how the variable cam timing and de-phasers work which we have on the Vee and I have not found too much information on these in the past ...

HI GUYS, i mentioned map sensor (mass air pressure) not maf (mass air flow). the clio as martin has said does not use one, james has highlighted the inlet temp sensor. as the ecu directly controlls air flow it allready knows by calculation the mass, using temp and pressure.
my opinion on the flames is get a diagnostic check done , or save up for new cats!

i forgot to mention, i can do a diagnostic check for anyone that wants one using the latest snap on solus tester, i will charge a nominal £25 cash to all club members for this. obviously you will have to travel to nottingham for this unless you pay my fuel, then i could possibly come to you.

It's ok mate, it's a missfire from one of the cylinders. I think I know which one too. I'll be cracking her open on the weekend for a once over.
