Manifolds

Well i have decided to go with this setup for my vee exhuast:-

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10256

I noticed that this car uses the trophy manifolds, will it make much difference to the sound of the car if i use my standard manifolds instead of the vee ones?

I am thinking of starting my system at the flange where it bolts onto the bottom of the manifold.

Whats everyone's thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Jonny

Does anyone have a drawing showing the sizes etc of the trophy manifold? I might get a plate laser cut to fit onto the manifold then get custom pipes welded onto it like the trophy? I would need the dimensions of the plate which fits onto the car and hole centre's etc.

Thanks,
Jonny

Jonny can't help in the matter above but I found this pic for your Information (The trophy engine) 8)

Thanks Adrian for the pic.

Lets me see whats going on around the manifolds.

Anyone got a picture of the shape of the manifold which bolts onto the engine now? Or something that i can get laser cut?

Thanks,
Jonny

Great link James :approve: Really interesting insight into what's possible if you've got the commitment, cash and bottle!!

Anyone fitted these manifolds

They look the part and may be cheaper than getting custom ones made. My car is currently in for a full custom job. Just waiting on a final price from the guy so may purchase these if its going to be mroe expensive to make custom manifolds then just get him to remove collector box and install sports cats.

Have never seen those for sale before. [smilie=icon_eek.gif] Do you know what type of quality they are?? They look a good alternative to the Trophy 3 branch manifolds if any good :approve:

I believe Scott (SG Motorsport) worked with Torque Technique in the past to design a complete exhaust system. Some should already have a system from TT as make no sense for TT to develop a full system just to put it on a shelf and a picture on a website

Yes that car in the gallery is Ricky's car, i have PM'd him to try and see if he has any video's etc of the car and to see what he thinks of the setup, i assume but he bought the car with this full system fitted.
