As per the subject, can I reuse the Main Cap Bolts or should I replace them? If I do need to replace, do I need to go to Renault or can Mike or Bob supply?
What is the projected output of the engine & use.
If it to be standard & the bolts have only been pre used once then you can reuse, if unknown or going to have hard use I would replace.
I have reused them before no issues - Check for stretching and go from there. I dont think they are available from renault any more, probably get them matched from a local fasteners.
i would also suggest new headbolts.here in greece we use high tension 12.9 from aftermarket shop with cheap cost about 25 eyros the set. about the cam u mentioned .... its better than a piper ?

I've not yet run it myself, but I wanted to try something different and Cat Cams have a great reputation. I've had nothing but positive feedback from those that have/are running them.
also here the last decade all the tuners use cat in the place of the piper or kent cams.in a previous c1j of a friend we had fitted the piper 285 but to be onnest we didnt see much diffrent in hp.u could say just duration to the high rpm little better.maybe we had to put also "out side adjustable gear" to adjust the cam.
Sadly Matt Sav the UK based guy left last December, since then customer service has dropped a little, but the products are absolutely lovely. I have a one-off billet cam and matching 5-bolt pulley, and though pricey it's worth every penny.

Dave, i've just fitted my Cam and realised that I needed to swap over the locating plate and washer. I pulled the Cam back out, made a tool to remove from my OE Cam and then fitted to the Cat Cam. I then went to fit the woodruff key that came with the Cam, but noticed that as there is no cut-out in the locating plate washer, I can't fit it? Am I missing a different washer?
All sorted! My locating plate washer had no slot for the woodruff key! Luckily I still had a Cam from an old engine that did have the slotted washer! It did mean the Cam went in and out a few times, but all good now.
