i have a TDO4L (from a WRX) in my GT, i am not able to raise the boost pressure more than a 0.5bar, i did a boost test leak and only found a leak from the accelerator pump on the carburator (i ordered a Webcon kit), could this be the reason?
The acc pump always leaks boost, you do not need that pipe on so block it off. Your problem is possibly actuator related, try a bleed off on the actuator line to see if you can get more boost pressure

I have tried disconnecting the pipe to the Wastgate actuator and set it on fully closed just for a test, it didn't solve the problem, maybe the turbo is to big? It's relatively small turbo...
td04 is a small one off a scooby, will do 280bhp at a big push, works well on the 1.6 mx5s too till about 250, its comparable to a t28, infact i think the t28 are bigger than it though i could be wrong. Id check the wastegate isnt fooked, if its adjustable tighten it up before condemning it

Actually it's a big exhaust housing 3' down pipe connected to a stock exhaust, with a middle and back muffler, maybe the exhaust gases are too restricted? It's a 3' going down to 2.25' and under the car 2'.
Try wiring the wastegate shut solid to see if it makes boost to rule out the actuator. The original actuator will no doubt be very weak. Mine is a gt2560r .64 and i make loads of boost so this should work ok

I replaced my blow off valve and i wired my wastegate shut solid, it helped a bit now i am getting 0.65 bar in 4500 rpm, still low with a lot of lag, the accelerator pump on the carb is leaking, could this be the reason?
