Lakes tour 2014 - Saturday 21st June

Oh how I've missed going up't North to see you lot...! Had a fantastic time!!

Huge thanks to Phill (2x l's) and Colin for organising this for us all to enjoy. As per previous Lakes meets, always eventful!

Great to meet so many new people and get those name to faces. Jitster, Craig, Invexis-, Ravydavy, d7ve b, and Redsalive! Plus the usual suspects, Simon, Matt, Russo and ofcourse.... Mr and Mrs Mossy and the adorable Olly whom I met for the first time. [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]

Such an enjoyable weekend.. Left home in Hampshire at 06.30 on Saturday, arriving at Ings at about 11.15 after meeting up with Matt, Mossy and Redsalive near Lancaster. Had a most enjoyable drive around a sun soaked Lake District with a delicious lunch stop at the Sportsman's.. more driving.. and then a long drive back South, stopping off at 'oldskoolbaby's place for a few drinks and a catch up.
Today, whilst still at Brett's, we had the club marquee up in the garden just to check all was ok for Kimbolton in 3 weeks time. With all up and ok, we popped over to The Wharf PH for a cold coke/shandy before we continued on our way back to Hampshire. A long weekend, a lot of of driving.. a lot of driving.. lol but immensely enjoyable.

Thank you to everyone involved for making it so enjoyable.

See you at Kimbolton!!

We'll chaps, I actually just arrived through the door and home now after what has been a fantastic weekend of driving Nevada! Great time catching up with everyone. The pace of driving was awesome grid year and the weather was fantastic. Lots of miles but loved every minute of them. Reversing back for the coach was quite funny again! Both meals were fab and big big thanks to James again for the very kind contribution to the evening meal :approve: this club makes owning the marques worthwhile. It was great to catch up with everyone and also meet some new faces. :approve: some of my pics below. Video to follow once I stitch it all together. Then I'm off to sleep :)

Matt, now I see what you were doing trying to get into the loco at Honister! Great photos! Having seen the fun you and Mossy were having in the Trophies it certainly makes you look at them in a different light, they really are brilliant cars though I must admit that a Sunflower yellow with supercharger damn nearly trumped the lot! :approve:
James, a huge thank you for your contribution, glasses lift in your honour
Phill, great organisation with Colin's assistance, never realised that you were going to run two different tours at once one group led ably by yourself and the other by Colin!!
Great to meet everyone else, hats off to Shaun and Jitstar. a huge effort coming from London and Hampshire

Roll on next year! Looking forward to it already :approve:

Some good photo's coming in now chaps which capture the feel of the day nicely, wish I could have seen and heard the Supercharged 172 in action - now that is one awesome bit of kit !!!!

Looks like a good time had by all.

Great photos - love the yellow 172, and of course the Vees.

The two Trophies look really good too - is one lowered?

Mossy' trophy is running coil overs and mines on cooksports.
Matt, does yours have the OEM Sachs dampers?

How do the two T's handle - when compared to each other that is?

No mate I've got cup shocks on at the moment. Hadn't noticed any difference tbh from when I had my Sachs on.
Going to get Sachs refurbed.

How was the journey back mate? Good going coming from london & then back in the same day. Was nice to meet you both.

It was my first V6 meet & i really enjoyed it, cant wait for the next one. Thanks for having me & my dad for the day, ill be in the vee for the next meet :-) it was nice to meet everyone who all made it a great day, seeing that many vee's driving about was epic.

It was not too bad tbh - plenty of daylight to get back in!

Anyone else have an interesting moment over a crest in the road on the way back from the Honister Pass? That certainly woke me up for the trip home!

Looking forward to Origine RS - I may even clean my car!

Oh yes! We discussed that moment heavily at the evening meal. I was chasing mossy in the 182 trophy and his car just disappeared over the crest into a sudden dip right before my eyes. I braked HARD but the back end went very light indeed! Scary moment lol
