Looks like a few of us are heading up to this event on Sunday (2nd), from Surrey, Hampshire etc, or within striking distance of the A40/M40.

Given that I seem to have volunteered myself to check out a good cross country route can we have a show of hands please from everyone willing to have a good early morning blast? Suggest we meet at Beaconsfield Services - time to be decided, but aim to get to Prescott between 9:00 and 9:15 am, or earlier if you prefer.

Can we complicated matters and have a second meet at (may I suggest) Air Balloon on the A417 just before Gloucester: https://plus.google.com/110331691967962 ... l=uk&hl=en

I'll be coming from SG Motorsport way so J2 M40 is a bit of a pain ;)

Sam, it's quite a sight. Look forward to having you along
Mick, any chance you guys can make it towards Stow-on-the-Wold? We can then take the B4077 to the venue..............

Don't know the area well but I am sure we can seek out a place to meet.......

Yeah Lankan Stow is good, really good drive for me and Sam as well! What sort of time do you reckon?

Great, now who is planning on meeting up at Beaconsfield Services?

Shaun/Stephen: is there a particular time we have to be at the venue? Last year, I think I got there quite early but you guys got in some time later......

I'm up for meeting at beaconsfield ,anytime you like dulan :approve:
Great stuff Paul, anybody else?

The planned route is as follows, which is a mixture of A and B roads, so should be fun:

From Beaconsfield Services head towards Aylesbury (or Thame), then on towards Bicester, but before hitting the town, head off towards Middleton Stoney, on to Middle Barton, then Stow-on-the-Wold (Meet up with Mick and Sam) and finally towards Chipping Norton via the B4011, B4030 and B4077, which are fantastic for an early morning blast..........just over 82 miles (2 to 2.5 hours) of fun.

Of course, if it rains, and depending on how bad it gets, we may have to be boring and stick to motorways or dual carriageways..............

Sorry! Can no longer make this [smilie=icon_cry.gif]

Have some afternoon commitments so will have to make do with the PH SS in the morning - please can my name be taken off the list.

Have a great day guys :approve:

Sorry guys but you'll have to make do without me on Sunday. [smilie=icon_cry.gif]

A screw-up at this end means that the car is still in bits from its latest round of spending.

Prescott was accepted on the basis that it was a good trial-run before the Abingdon CARnival rally next Sunday, as I've not driven the car in anger for two years.

Instead I'll just have to man-up on a proper rally - all supposing it's back in one piece.

Have a great day out!

Noooo.... Gutted.

Sorry to hear you'll not be along Mark. I think we were all excited to see our road going cars represented by the 'daddy', blasting up the hill. Still.. hope all goes well for you and the car next weekend.

I guess you can go out for a few beers instead, and maybe wet the babies head ;)

Shaun

Weather's looking good for Sunday! Lankan, not got a clue about Stow but suggest we meet at https://plus.google.com/116642467443986 ... l=uk&hl=en ?
Indeed, the weather gods appear to be on our side this Sunday 8)

Stow Lodge Hotel seems fine - I am sure they will entertain a few Vees in their car park. If not there appears to be plenty of parking (bays) in the town centre. In any case let's exchange mobile phone numbers - will PM you mine. See you Sunday between 8:45 and 9:00 am.

Paul O. (and anybody else joining on the M40) we would need to be at Beaconsfield Services at 7:15 am and with the aim of leaving by 7:30.

Will meet you at Beaconsfield Services, looking forward to a nice drive. :race:

Gutted to hear that Mark, but hoping to catch the car at Abingdon next weekend :approve:
