Just Picked up No. 103

I’m not technical Steve. I had that light a few times.
Once was when ignition coils had gone (older coils were prone to failures)
Once and for a long time when certain things had been removed from my exhaust. ;)
Once when rather expensive lambda sensors had burnt out.

Coil gave me that ‘warning light’... before I went to ‘bulletproof’ V6 Trophy coils.

Starter motor simply didn’t start - no warning light (that I can recall!). New units are thought to be a billion times more robust.

Trouble-free motoring ever since.

How much are we looking at for Trophy coils ??
I think the OE coils were flawed and the replacements have faired much better.

During the uncertainty times, a number of people fitted trophy coils... as they represented the ‘belt & braces’ option. I don’t think there have been any failures.

They are probably difficult to acquire these days, but the robust road car coil is a perfectly a satisfactory option.
