Hmmm, ill check it again tomorrow, thought it was abit strange, ill have to drain some out if thats the case! [smilie=icon_eek.gif] Cheers chaps.

Apologies for my hurried reply ... It's easy to overfill especially with that electronic dipstick thing and the time it takes to register ... Just drain some out as you say and all will be fine as it's best not to run it with too much oil in ...

I remember one of my dads friends, who wasn't mechanically minded, topped the oil up in his old Sierra until it reached the neck of the filler cap - as that's where he thought the level was [smilie=icon_eek.gif] Ended up hydrolocking his engine [smilie=badpc.gif]

My bro numpty as he is and extremely non mechanically minded filled his toyota land cruiser up to te brim n set off down the motorway only to find his life would flash before his eyes when his throttle stuck wide open revving the absolute redline nuts out of it weaving in and out of traffic with a plume of black smoke coming from underneath his bonnet stradling his view! Finally got it to the hard shoulder pulled the keys out, engine carried on! finally managed to stall it in 5th and then ruined his clutch as well as a full engine rebuild on a 4.2 turbo diesel and the overall damage bill 5k! That oil did cost him a fortune! [smilie=hide.gif]

if that story relates to a v6 i don't know, but i wouldn't wana find out! I'd drop a litre out mate!
