Japanese 4WD convertible

Crimson Dynamo

New Member
After much procrastination and negotiation I've added a Japanese built four wheel drive, automatic, convertible to the vehicle collection

It isn't something I'd normally buy, it doesn't handle or stop that well and it only has 46 horse power but what a beast!

Interesting addition Jon - looks like the cab has got a 'floating' roof.

Are you planning on using it as it was designed or have it just for fun, and maybe convert it to a V8 engined monster and go tractor racing? :)

The joy of owning a 22 hectare property means a tractor like this is a necessary addition. It has already started to prove its worth by moving tons of old rotten wood, loads of soil and digging a few holes. I originally planned to go second hand but as these Kubotas hold their price really well and Kubota offer interest free finance along with getting a full warrantee, it just made sense to buy a new one

I'm not planning on going tractor racing at this stage as it's top speed is just 22.5 kilometres per hour but I have used it to help build a race track in one of the paddocks. The layout is based on a smaller version of the Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit but only measures 650 metres. The current fastest standing lap time is one minute 17.65 seconds in our 1997 Hyundai Excel 1500 paddock bomb. I reckon that time will improve substantially in the dryer months as it is a bit muddy in places at the moment

Cool, I am sure the tractor will be put to good use - Kubota is quite popular in Sri Lanka, so I am familiar with the marque.

Interested in hearing more about your 'race track' - will you have tarmac or keep it as a dirt track, with jumps and dips per rally circuits? The release of the new Toyota GR Yaris has rekindled my interest in WRC.
